8/5/2017 - PeterFromThePan Likes this wine: 89 pointsHad this at the restaurant ... which means it was overpriced. Lots of tannins. dark fruit ... plum and dark/tart cherries. Went very well with a burger. Probably more of a cool weather wine. If you like tuscan wines, this one is a reasonable one to try. The current score of 75 is a little dramatic ... If you don't like chiantis, you won't like this. More for me! |

10/6/2017 - PeterFromThePan wrote: 87 pointsThis was a rather disappointing showing, especially considering the high WE score of 96 and the price. I would echo the review from someone who recently rated the 2012 vintage. I decanted the bottle and then drank a glass over an hour. The wine clearly has good structure with soft/mild tannins. From that perspective I can see that this is a wine that was made with care. However, this is where it ends for me. I do not get very much fruit of any kind. Re-reading the WS review, I get very little from what is being described. Maybe if your palate is refined to the point where you can make out the most subtle of flavors ... but I am not trying to impress others with what I can pick out ... I want to enjoy the wine! Before I told my wife what we were drinking, she guessed that this was one of the cheaper bottles in our cellar. So, overall, I was clearly disappointed based on the $55 I paid. Unfortunately, I have still 3 bottles left. Maybe things will open up with a few more years of cellaring?

12/1/2013 - Tomairm Does not like this wine: NRToo late, poured out most bottles, mostly red deep into the corks.

1/20/2018 8:58:00 AM - Thanks for the excellent advice! I had no idea blocking a user was an option. I did not notice the CT score change though. Maybe the algorithm starts filtering out outliers when there's more scores available? Would be interested to know.
