Nice if unexceptional Pinot. I don't know if I liked it as much as last time. I would not save this for anything special, but drink it when you want Pinot and don't want a fuss. The price is certainly good.

Date of drinking is wrong, but I want to note that this is from the same vineyard as Windy Hill, but this is more serious. A steal at mid-teens, really typical Sonoma coast pinot, a little more structured (from new barrels?), also elegant and lean from the cool weather of the gap up there.

Nice Burgundian-style, smells of red berries and wonderful black cherry flavors with not-so-subtle toasty oak. A nice difference from the norm, low alcohol content (12.5%), has long-lasting European sense, but with outstanding California fruit notes. Not for everyone, but for those with a preference for slightly aged, more subtle Pinot flavor. Good, silky mouth feel. Has demolished other Pinots near its price point on a few at-home blind tastings with visiting family. The over-done oak is my primary complaint, but at $12/bottle this is a great QPR with well-cared for estate winery sense. Much better than any $12 Pinot you'll get at the grocery store and a good wine to try something different.

- Crimsom color with medium forming legs. It's balanced and has flavours of violet and mushroom with a medium body. Satin-Like texture with a medium finish.

I tasted this originally at Tam cellars and enjoyed it so bought a bottle. Perhaps I got a bad bottle but I did not like it this time around. I don't recall my tasting notes and I tried letting it sit overnight, it got worst.

Served as a flight at Tam Cellars, Larkspur. Charcoal and smoke on the nose. Funky palate with sour fruit and a sour finish. Mediocre.

nose - violets or other flowers, a bit of that forest floor smell, smells like a pinot
mouth - light to mid bodied and drinking quite smooth. Light red fruits, but very restrained. Good acidity and provides good palate cleansing functio. I actually thought it went better with the dinner than some of the more fruity pinots that in themselves I wound up liking better (such as the Breggo 2006 Donnoelly Creek Vineyard - mind you at 5x the price of this one). This is an understated, pleasant, and varietally correct pinot at under $10. Bravo.
