4/15/2024 - Fugu Me Does not like this wine: NRI should know better by now than to get the Garagiste mystery wines. Great for those who like big, bold, and hot. Not so much for others. I fall into the latter. |

2/15/2024 - BryonD Likes this wine: 90 pointsExpansive ripe blackberry and chocolate notes in the nose along with some soft oak. Purple and garnet highlights. Big peppery, chocolate, blackberry flavors. Lingering finish with vanilla overtones. One of the best Washington merlots I've had in a long while. |

12/29/2023 - Adam Pritzker Likes this wine: 93 pointsJust like the regular, this showed much better than last time and more typical to what I remember it being. This is definitely a step up from the regular but the regular is no slouch. Both are impressive and both are well worth trying. If I remember correctly I believe I was told that this is the same as the regular just with a little bit more Barrel aging maybe 6 months or so extra. Dark color. Explosive sweet ripe earthy fruit bouquet. On the pallet very concentrated and complex. With loads of sweet dark earthy fruit, cassis. A touch more concentrated and complex than the regular. But like the regular this is really probably consumed and it's earlier part of life. Likely best now the 2028 possibly to a 2031. Really delicious and a must try. Good qpr. Long finish and well balanced. Also 14.8% ABV and also not very noticeable due to the fruit and the balance. Long finish. |

On the palate, concentrated and complex with nice ripe dark fleshy earthy fruit. Very typical flavors for Walla Walla Valley Cabernet sauvignon. Long finish. There are still some tannins that could be resolved but it's really drinking well now. Likely best now to 2028. While it may last longer it's Unique flavors will disappear which is what brings the charm to this wine. Had side by side with the reserve which was slightly better but this still held its own. Both are worth having and trying. Very good qpr. I hope they do more closer runs of this in the future. It's nice to have something from Washington State. 14.8% abv. The fruit imbalance are excellent so one does not taste the alcohol |

12/19/2023 - SpoochMan Does not like this wine: 83 pointsgifted to grad student party and had a taste. Was much less enthusiastic than other notes here. Came across as hot and overblown. Rough around the edges too. Only paid $12 but not worth that |

At 7 years past vintage, it's wide awake and drinking beautifully. Love that this Merlot has a backbone, while still showing the fruit. Need to visit next WW trip. |

8/9/2023 - Adam Pritzker Likes this wine: NRHad out of the house so maybe didnt travel well. Good concentrated dark fruit. But the alcohol showed. Need to retry soon. The regular, while a little less concentrated (had side by side) showed the same problem with the alcohol. If the alcohol shows less, it would definitely merit a 90 score |
