Intial pour showed nicely balanced full legs with distinctive blackberry nose. Wine opens to light lead pencil & plum profile. Finish is nicely oaked and paired well with Grilled Lamb Chops. The price to value ratio is terrific. |

Lots of acidity and tannin, by far the less approachable compared with the 2020 Belle-Vue and 2020 Lestage, but gradually the fruit finds its way through, and it handled a roast duck extremely well. One for old world palates, one for food (so much better with the duck than on its own). It deserves some cellaring and should gain weight and soften if you can leave it for 5 more years. Drink 2029 - 2034. |

11/21/2023 - #alexindahouse Likes this wine: 90 pointsThis bottle seems to have matured significantly more than previous bottles, it’s on the turn and seems to be in decline.. the tannins are fully intergrated which make for a smooth tasting wine with some nice dark forest fruit on the palate but the nose is heading down the road of overly ripened fruit and tar 88 points for the first night - second night was a massive improvement, the nose really came to life with no overripe fruit or tar 91 points for the second night |
