5/8/2024 - Discobiscuits42 wrote: 93 pointsQuite nice. Nose: tropical notes with a chalky minerality. Quite a nice on the palate. Very linear drift across the taste with some nice weight despite the advertised 12.3%. Citrus, chalk. A lot of "but nots." Tropical but not, vegetal/leafy but not, lemon/lime but not, orange but not. Just enough of all of these in combination create good harmony. Nice acidity and structure. A very nice wine. |

3/15/2024 - cyc Likes this wine: 91 pointsPours a bit cloudy, perhaps unfiltered. Incredible nose. On the palate, underripe pear and peach, lemon rind, and minerality. A serious wine, revisit in 5-10 years and see how it develops. |

3/4/2024 - Dale M wrote: 91 pointsAt first I thought this the more “typical” white I have had from CB in some time. Nope, it was just too cold initially, and as the wine warmed all the unique goodness from this producer came to the front. Less acidity than your mom and pop SB, but no lack of structure or freshness. Some tropical fruits, guava perhaps sit in the back ground while a Italian herbal (think oregano and sage) takes the center stage. Versatile white and could be served with a wide array of food, and in this case, great pairing with a marinated beet, orange and goat cheese salad |

2/22/2024 - Discobiscuits42 wrote: 92 pointsThis wine has improved since 1 1/2 years ago. It is no longer so grapefruity, but more minerally with some orange and secondarily lemon peel. The orange has definitely become more prominent since last bottle. Exceptional balance and relatively full. I don't love the nose which has a pretty sweet, candied lemony aroma. Very good on palate. Wine was completed washed out at fridge temp. Really needs cellar temp+ for it to come alive. Drink or hold. |

2/12/2024 - Brian Glas Likes this wine: 93 pointsTasted after 40 minutes of air. Decanted and aggressively swirled. Starting to open. Hint of lime and seashore on the nose. Expressive pear fruit on the palate. Fruit is sweet but balanced by the firm acidity. I get slate notes on the mid palate. Another home run for Saul. |

1/29/2024 - Brian Glas Likes this wine: 94 pointsTasted after 30 minutes of air. Tasted blind. I guessed this was a Picpoul at first. Very high acidity. Green apple fruit. A lean style. Some excellent dry extract on the mid palate. Big hit of mineral too. Almost like licking a piece of slate. Really starting to open now. A very distinctive style of Chardonnay. Excellent balance as I love these lean high acid Chardonnays. Outstanding. |

1/25/2024 - cyc Likes this wine: 93 pointsThis wine is simply fantastic, an incredible debut Pinot Noir for this relatively young producer. Many people talk about balance in wine, but few wines walk a razor's edge like this one. There is an incredible purity and concentration of red fruit, but it doesn't stray into flabby or candied territory. Instead, an electrifying core of acidity on the tip of your tongue keeps this fresh and tight. Excited to see how this wine evolves over time, and I made sure to load up on more of this wine while it's still available. |

1/13/2024 - Bjweiss Likes this wine: 91 pointsReally enjoying this wine. Great balance, with some structure to age too. There’s a healthy dose of concentrated fruit here, but also a lot of earthy goodness too. Red fruited, never pushing dark, so there’s a great freshness here. Wood is used appropriately, never imposing itself on the wine. Again, and excellent value from Saul, and a wonderful wine. |

1/13/2024 - Bjweiss Likes this wine: 92 pointsThis is excellent and shows the beauty of Chardonnay in Oregon. When I first opened the bottle at 57 degrees, it had what felt like some extra RS, but chilling it down a few degrees to about 50 Fahrenheit corrected that immediately. Super aromatic in the glass, great color, and richly concentrated with both fruit and rocky mineral notes. This is punching so far above its price it’s a little ridiculous. Saul has a huge hit here. 3 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

1/12/2024 - Discobiscuits42 wrote: 92 pointsVery delicious. Nice depth, balance, impressive finish. Acid has really balanced nicely. Honestly astounded by this bottle for the price point. Incredibly tasty. If I had to find fault, finish has some very subtle bitter notes which I didn’t enjoy which is more than overshadowed by the incredible front end and mid palate. Overall tremendous success. |

1/9/2024 - cyc wrote: 90 pointsFor some reason, my thought was that this would be a sweet-fruited glou-glou type wine. However, this is a bit more serious than I had anticipated, with plenty of structure and nuance. Better with a slight chill, and needs a bit of air to really open up. I'll be interested in revisiting this in a year or so. |

1/9/2024 - nrulis Likes this wine: 93 pointsIt’s young and could benefit from a decant, but once it opens you get a bit of citrus drizzled over apricots, pears and peaches. Some cream, macadamia, a touch of hay and a lovely minerality with the flint and slate. |
