Dinner at parcelles. This was young and wound extremely tight, didn't budge over 90 mins. Dark beaujolais with black cherry, blackberry, rich berry fruit, good acidity and minerality carry this. There's a sense of the soil similarity to n Rhone with some olive tapenade/gamey/earthy ish tones, doesn't quite get there but enough to get the sense that this is more than acid and fruit eventually. Haven't had la souteronne 22 but i imagine this would be similar or better quality, pricey but one to watch.

2018 La Porte Saint Jean Saumur Rouge Les Pouches

Dinner at le grand bain. A little bit of brett (leather) on the nose, but mostly dark fruit. Blackberries and some plum on the palate, hint of green provides freshness. M+ acid, m body, lower in alcohol than expected. Really wonderful cab franc with a long finish. Really fruit forward at this point, this could gain from a lot of time in bottle but it's drinking great now.

day 1 pnp - first time with this producer. green fruit and acid on the nose, a little bit of minerality, really refreshing. Follows through on the palate with some apple skin texture, citrus pith bitterness, and high acid. Some green apple, something a little grassy? gooseberry? reminds me a tad of sauv b. Lingering finish. This is really good and much better than expected, I was admittedly more excited about the pinot and chard from dostert but if this is any indication of the quality it certainly hasn't tampered my expectations.
Paired well with pepperoni pizza.
