Warmed up to near room temp this is a totally different wine. I find it lightly oaked! There is some green melon, greengage, unripe nectarine and citrus making a pleasant wine with food. I think it will cellar well and I need to leave it a couple of years or more for another look then when the acid might become more tolerable, when it might be worth a couple more points. |

Can’t help but note the “Syrah” signifier vs the “Shiraz” of its neighbor… This is a very good single vineyard wine, Hawk’s Bay shows a lighter body Syrah/Shiraz. Can taste the white pepper finish. Less punchy and milder than Australia. More old world. |
