Touch of geranium. Unusual, changing. With a suitable depth of flavour, the entry is all about lemon and oranges with a terpene note featuring linalool and geranium characteristics. Very open-knit, the wine has a refreshing zesty acidity, vibrancy, and flavours reflect the nose along with apple and peach pip. It flows along in a simple, unobtrusive way. |

Packed to the brim with roasted Marcona almonds, cinnamon graham cracker, teakwood, candied orange peel, sultanas, chai spice, and briny sea. Streamlined mouthfeel, sharp on the edges but full and sweet in the middle. Very complex, smooth yet drying, lasting briny finish. This is gorgeous, and ready to drink now. Small slavonian casks for 22 years. 250 cases. |

3/13/2021 - Tim Heaton Likes this wine: NRGood+. This was a PnP on day one; day two, with ~ half of the bottle remaining was a hair better than day one. I'm surprised I've not seen this, or recall tasting this whilst in the area, or at various European wine fairs - it's a great little wine, and at just $25, a good value, too. The lighter side of medium-bodied, with bright cherry and just a whisper of tart fruit. The aromas are classic on day one, and day two show just a bit more sappy red fruit, with some tree bark, iodine, soil//place notes and walnut skin. There's a subtle elegance about this that sets the vibe, and I like it. Going back to my lws for a few more. Now, with aeration, or over the coming 4-7 years; will likely improve while resting. The 14,5% is (mostly) resolved; my only nit. DIAM5. recommended |
