Belle finesse. |

11/15/2023 - jlm wrote: NRThis opened up only slightly over several hours. First taste was after ~2 hours of slow-ox. Reserved on the nose and dominated by acidity and tannin on the palate, this had me worried there was low-level cork taint. After a few more hours open, however, the fruit emerged enough to buffer the structure some and the wine verged on pleasurable. But overall, it was closed and unappealing. I *think* there is the material there for this to become better with further cellar time, but I'm not sure of it. It might also be a case of an old school style that will never come into balance. |

I just love the selections curated by Caveau Selections. They find very good wines that they can sell for under $40. And excellent Champagnes, too. |

Medium taste of raspberry, red currant, strawberry and dried herbs. Medium long and dry finish. High acidity. Light tannins. Medium (-) body. A good Bourgogne Côte d’Or. Part of my WSET3 exam prep. Drink now. Goes well with lean fish or poultry. |

4/21/2023 - John from GR Likes this wine: 89 pointsRed fruits and some wet stone. As expected in a Cru Beaujolais, light tannins and medium body. Very pleasant wine, and a good QPR. Drank with roast chicken, and it was a great match. This wine would be a perfect choice while sitting on the back deck with some chocolate or a joint. Or both. |

1/29/2023 - David Paris (dbp) wrote: 88 pointsOpened 24 hours ago. Aromas are fairly flat and "pinoty"... just very very light in aroma. Palate entry is much more expressive, immediately attacking with nice pretty soft generic red berry fruits, light acidity, and some tannins. The fruit is not in full vibrancy, but also not turned tertiary. The tannins remain puckering as its held in the mouth, and still wollop you a bit on the finish. Somehow still soft and caressing on the finish despite those big tannins. The acidity lingers nicely on the finish. Overall, a pretty simple straight forward effort, but one that has aged well and will still hold it together for some time into the future... it's just a bit simple. |

9/14/2022 - kerv22 Likes this wine: 91 pointsElegant nose of sour cherry, floral (violets), maybe citrus. Palate well balanced, light-medium body, medium tannin, sour Cherry. Good complexity although I’ll admit I’m having a hard time nailing down descriptors. Probably a bit young, but it’s so good! 91-92 |

8/23/2022 - WTFWTB wrote: 95 pointsPronounced aromatics, a signature of Volnay wines, aren’t unexpected, but the nose on this wine from Thiebault Huber-Verdereau is wonderfully intense. Layers of fruit (rhubarb, black currant, and prune), followed by an intoxicating combination of smoke and spice in the form of cinnamon and cigar box. |
