Way to ripe for my palate. Jammy with lots of dark fruits. Very full bodied. Needs food.

Deep purple color -typical syrah. Nose is forward, of macerated black forest fruit, twigs and all. Some leather, and olive as well. Palate is soft on the fire. With good blackberry and black olive, and bay leaf. A good dose of leathery tannins, and a bit of green stemmminess add character.

Nice balance of acidity is appreciated. A tad hot. Very good.

Flat and slightly sour. Wax and cork were intact, and bouquet was much more enticing than the palate.

Tasted blind. I found syrah as varietal relatively easily but was torn to ID new world vs old world, this was more prescient than I understood.

IMHO this is way better than the ave CT rating. Complex, balanced and still going strong after 18 years. Ripe dark fruit hand-in-hand with earthy and aged delights. Plum, cranberry, mushroom, bacon fat, yes this has it all. This is better than some wines 10X the price. (93 Excellent wine)

A collaboration with renowned Rhone producer and Terlato family. Unusually elegant Shiraz from Victoria, aged for 12 months in FR oak and concrete. Medium+ intensity aroma of plums in liquor, toast, scorched earth, chocolate, smoke, black olives, caramel, tamarind, medicinal hints. Medium+ body, soft, round, elegant and smooth structure, medium+ fully integrated tannins, medium+ acidity. Sadly it’s peaking over, lacking freshness and fruitiness while rustic tertiaries are taking over its flavour profile.

Really enjoyable, drinkable Shiraz, but with a peppery French style - big blackberry and plume, soft smokey notes and baking spice on the finish.

Robe rouge amarante dense.
Nez ouvert, fruits mûrs, framboise noire, cassis.

Last bottle. Not great. Lovely dark colour. Nice nose - maybe a little weak, but pretty blueberry fruit and some spice. But its flat and not exciting On the palate, its very dry and unforgiving. Some fruit, blueberry and blackberry but not intense and not enjoyable. Consign to pot?

A wine that merits being drunk as a ringer with Cote Roties from Northern Rhone, costing a small fraction of their price. Inky dark in the glass with a small outside ring of red. Smells bright, pure, and fruity. Rolls into the mouth with the beginning of a silky and juicy texture, whose crowning glory is twin towers of firm acidity and tannin without any harshness or astringency. Generously fruity with blackberry, blueberry, and purple raspberry, without the separate sugar sweetness that sometimes mars Australian Shiraz.

Kept open and tasted for 6 days, simply recorking and putting back in the refrigerator. The pour has purple bubbles with an opaque purple center and a thin red ring around the edge. The aromas are a gush of smoked meats, blackberry, black currant, and lavender. The sip is a tripod of vivid fruit, black tea tannin, and lively acidity. The finish adds a surprisingly enjoyable taste of evergreen needles and faint bitterness into the mix. Comes from a dry and complexly rocky vineyard up in the Australian Pyrenees Mountains. Overall, aging well, superbly fruity, delicious, and well structured, with a fascinating armada of secondary tastes.

Untypical Australian Shiraz. Full color, elegant nose. Palate dominated by cherry and pepper notes, red fruit with some garrigue. Medium body, medium finish with some austere tannins. No sweetness. More North Rhone than Australia. But no signs of age, will hold some more years.

Colour: intense ruby
Nose: medium(+) intensity, secondary, developing. Red and black plum, bramble, blackberry jam, plum jam. Pomegranate. Juniper berry, bergamot, lavender. Cedar, oak, balsamic vinegar, sweet spice.
Palate: dry, medium(+) acidity, medium tannins, high alcohol (14,5%), medium(+) bodied. Medium intensity, medium length finish. Red and black plum, bramble, blackberry jam, plum jam. Pomegranate. Juniper berry, bergamot, lavender. Cedar, oak, balsamic vinegar, sweet spice.
Conclusions: very good. Can drink now, but suited to further ageing. My first Australian wine this year and my first Australian Shiraz since last December. This is obviously Australian, but with a French interpretation.
Seal: natural cork
DAY 2: similar to yesterday, but maybe a bit more rich and plush than I remembered -- just a bit more "new world". Plum jam, and now maybe leather. Still lovely!

Opened to have with dinner, but did not come across as very expressive upon opening - tasted fine - maybe a little muted and certainly not very complex. Will give this another 24 hours before consigning to the pot.....

Not decanted, tasted briefly and poured back into the bottle. noticeably different than the bottle from last October - darkly colored, somewhat mute and slightly sour cherry fruit, no real savoriness, no real joy. I'll revisit this note if some oxygen helps this flesh out.

PnP. Good, daily drinker. Still has the backbone to coast another couple years with plenty of fruit - cherry/blueberry. Secondary flavors with bitter herbs dominate. No noticeable tertiary flavors/aromas. Long bitter finish. Drinks a little warm. Nice nose and good, assertive use of oak. Slow legs. Deep red color. Full bodied mouthfeel.

Better after a 45 minute decant. Purer fruit and better integrated oak
