4/10/2024 - black fruits Likes this wine: 92 pointsCertainly up there in terms of quality. Gentle smoke, vanilla, dried fruits and a super smooth finish. My only gripe with this Wisky is the 40%abv. I just wish it was bottled at a slightly higher abv say 43 to 45. In my opinion this would had extra depth and bring it forward from excellent to one of the greats. |

As smooth as you would expect from a mix of malts of this age - but if you're used to single malts, a bit characterless and - dare I say it - boring. Safe bet if you see a bottle on the shelf in a bar. |

Am already a big fan of three of them anyways: Talisker, Linkwood and Caol Ila. This was on sale at Costco ($12 off if you buy two) bringing price to about $39 - crazy good value. I read a great article on a blind tasting of a combination of old/expensive vs. younger/cheaper whiskies and this was the only bottle the taster got wrong - he thought it was much more expensive. I can frankly see why. |

Blend includes: Talisker, Linkwpood, Craggamore, Caol Ila and others. Was discontinued but I believe now back in production. |
