Dark fruits, extracted, silky and smooth. Celia Welch is a top notch winemaker most notably from Scarecrow, kelly Fleming, Keever and Corra. I find this in a similar style. It is a bit presumptuous or just a sign of the times in Napa that a debut wine can sell for $150+ per bottle. It's good but for that money I'll drink Carter all day. |

Some nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves on the nose too with dark berries. Heavy blue and black berries on the palate with some cassis. Very ripe, extracted, voluptuous and silky. Almost seems like some tighter almost mountain berries near the finish. Fully integrated moderate tannins (7.5/10) and full bodied with a little furriness. Long and lingering finish, this wine will only develop and get better with age in the bottle. Excellent work Kerrin and Celia! Drink from 2017 till 2036. (92+) |
