4/21/2024 - Russocaster Likes this wine: 88 pointsBlend estilo Burdeos con personalidad. Joven. Reservar 2 o 3 años. |

3/25/2024 - Delund Likes this wine: 91 pointsBased upon my previous experience with this line of Napa cabs, drinking it young, pop and pour, 58 F. At 30 minutes, this wine really emerged. Rich bright ruby color. Of the 6 or 7 vintages of the regular Matt Parish Napa cabs I have had over the past several years, this is my favorite. Big black fruit, smoke, vanilla on the nose. Lively acidity, velvety tannins with a drying grip. Reasonable use of oak, alcohol very well integrated for such a young wine. Big sweet blackberry and plum fruit on the palate, spicy oak notes. Lingering finish. Great QPR. So quaffable. |

2/7/2024 - Delund Likes this wine: 90 pointsWell, didn't quite make it 2 years before opening another bottle, but close to a year-and-a-half, so... The alcohol has integrated pretty well, still a hint on the nose, but no noticeable heat on the palate. Really started to show itself after a 90-minute decant. 60 F. Smokey (but not the smoke taint type) nose with notes of vanilla, sweet tobacco, cedar, the aforementioned alcohol and black fruits. Medium-bodied, lush/creamy tannins. Sweet cassis, ripe sweeter blackberry fruit, cherry, dried oak on the palate, notes of pleasantly bitter dark chocolate. Lingering, drying finish with a touch of acidity. Pretty happy with how this wine is deveoping. Could see this wine adding another point or two over the next few years. |

10/31/2023 - sjw_11 wrote: 90 pointsJust a quick impression. I think this was about £25 from Naked Wines which makes it one of their most expensive I reckon. Apparently this wine maker used to make for TWE (Beringer) in the US so take that for what you will. Decent enough wine. Not over rich. Nice poise. Not super impressive though. Probably a touch expensive as normal for anything labelled Napa. |

10/23/2023 - dcmallonee Likes this wine: 86 pointsNeeded to breathe for bit. First taste, rather flat. After and hour the flavor improved - dark fruits, smoke. Much better the second day - more improved taste and an enjoyable roundness compared to initial pour. A couple of more years and it will rate much higher. |

9/24/2023 - Delund Likes this wine: 89 pointsDefinitely drinking this a bit too soon, and I expect it will gain a few points with age. 90 minute decant, 60 F. Very deep, even inky, ruby color. I believe that the nose would be much more expressive with a few more degrees of temp, but I don't think that would help the palate at this point. Subdued nose of vanilla, bourbon, raspberry and a touch of petrol. Full bodied with a lovely round mouthfeel. Alcohol and oak already well-integrated, low acidity. Boysenberry, dried beef, spicy oak notes and a hint of dark chocolate on the palate. medium length, very drying finish. Will try to wait a few years before I open my next bottle. |

9/2/2023 - Delund Likes this wine: 88 pointsSimilar to how I remember the 2019. Took about an hour of air to come around. Bright ruby color. Dates, vanilla and a bit of mocha on the nose. Body is smooth but maybe a bit thin, no noticeable heat, low acidity. Tart black cherry on the palate, with notes of sweet dried dates, tobacco and blueberries. Short finish. Again, I think there must be some petite syrah in this blend. Prefer his cabs at a young age, but I think this will age better and could pick up a couple of points. |

8/9/2023 - Delund Likes this wine: 90 pointsShort decant based upon my history with other vintages of this wine, served at 57 F. Inky ruby color. Black and white shake on the nose, with currant, plum and green bell pepper on the nose. Medium-bodied, fading acidity, light grippy (almost but not quite velvety) tannins. Oak and alcohol well-integrated. Sweet bright blackberry jam fruit on the palate, spicy oak notes, pomegranate, a hint of sour cherry and the slightest touch of menthol. Drinking really well right now, great QPR. Short clean finish. |
