Finally came back to this one almost 6 years later. Time was friendly to this bottle. I guess I'd just say it's a solid inexpensive wine. I probably won't buy more of it, but I have no regrets. Pairing with penne in an arugla and sausage broth.

I'm having a hard time figuring this wine out. I want to like it and some tastes are enjoyable. Seems to need a lot of air for a wine that is not particular structured nor complex. Tangy acidic upon opening taste becomes more ripe with time. Still a good QPR and a nice Thursday night bottle but I'm not posting pics on my FB page.

Popped, poured a little allowed to breathe in the bottle for a couple of hours. Smelled fruity and fresh... like grape juice not yet fermented. Sour fruit notes evoking a tangy, almost metallic mouth feel. Finished better than it started but was tough staying open minded about it that long. Not sure if it is young, a bad bottle, or just not very good. I guess its a $10 bottle so what was I hoping for... but was hoping for more.

EDIT: After corking with a Vacu Vin and tasting again 2 days later, my impression is quite different. I have increased the rating from 82 to 88 based on this. The sour, metallic notes on the front-end have mellowed to a nicely acidic and flavorful, if not complex, taste. The finish which I thought would've been pleasant had the initial mouth feel not turned me off is still there and is enjoyable. Overall, this one has more promise than I first imagined. I have 5 more and will properly decant the next one to determine if that was the missing ingredient.

A lovely Chardonnay; not too oak-y and slightly sweet. Perfect with grilled chicken.

Nice enough Chardonnay, certainly not typical. Not getting a lot of sharpness or acidity for me. Getting apple on the nose and tongue. Maybe a little grapefruit. Soft mouthfeel. Short finish. It did pair well with a Chinese dinner.

I actually quite enjoy it. It is definitely not for everyone though. For having 3% RS i thought it was pretty balanced, definitely not cloying in anyway. The cab franc really compliments the moscato and provides for a good acid backbone. There is lots of fruit there, but not totally decernable, maybe some cranberries, strawberries and some citrus, also it seems like a touch of effervescense but that may just be perceived with the acid. The acid is there, but the lightness and sweetness probably doesn't help this hold up to many food pairings. We had salads and grilled chicken and it worked, but I like it better as an after dinner sipper.

Cranberry and cherry dominate. This is actually a bit young so I'm excited about how this developed. Great winemaking in the bottle.

Cherry cola, vanilla; very soft, almost Oregon Pinot in feel. Enjoyed by everyone at the table. And they donate a portion of sales to support marriage equality.

This is a chardonnay for the ABC crowd. Crisp and sharp, with no MLF and no oak. DW, who enjoys CA chardonnays, said "I like it but it doesn't taste like chardonnay." I'm an ABC person myself; descriptors like "buttery", "creamy", "soft mouth feel", etc, make me flee from a chardonnay. This was one I enjoyed. I could easily sit on a deck with this on a hot summer afternoon (should that happen to occur in Seattle this summer - we're still waiting), or match it up with a good piquant Asian stir fry. In that regard it behaves more like a solid SB or sturdy PG than a typical US chard. That is not say that this doesn't taste like chardonnay. The profile is unmistakeably chardonnay. It's just chardonnay without the butter and oak.

Bottom line - if you like your chards bold and oakey (or even moderately bold and oakey) stay away. You won't like this. But if you want a crisp, clean chard this will do the job nicely. Don't expect a lot of complexity or nuance, but expect something that is a nicely representative of chardonnay in that style.

Rated good: 82-84

Very high qpr. Might lighter bodied than most American tempranillo. Lighter on the oak as well. Red fruit forward with a very strong acidity behind it. A little too much acidity, but not bad enough to make it undrinkable. Going to think about keeping these around as a daily drinker
