No formal notes.

A delicious rosé that's on the slightly fuller and richer side. Still very much alive despite its age. No smoke taint or smoky accents in my bottle either.

Lovely tart cherries and black tea notes with some.light tobacco. Medium tannins and mild sweetness. Delicious. Picked up during the Berserker 15 marathon.

Straightforward chardonnay. To me, it's more similar to California style than what I think of WV chardonnay. It's good, with some pineapple on the back end.

Wow. Medium ruby color. When I popped and poured this lots of crunchy red berry fruit. After 1 hour of air the sweet red cherries are more pronounced. Very sweet. Balanced by high acidity. Really picking up the stems here. Black tea notes on the mid palate. Very spicy. David isn't performing formula wine making here. He is following his own path. An excellent effort.

Best of both worlds. A little hit of sweetness but finishes dry and smooth. Fresh apple flavor. This is one of the favorites of the line for me

Bottle #2. Wow what a difference. This is a really fine and beautifully textured rosé, more like a white burgundy, a bit of something malolactic maybe with a stony streak running through. Absolutely gorgeous. I cannot believe this is the same wine.

To me the most “English” of the lot with firm but very fine tannins. Fascinating cherry notes as another taster points out. Lovely!

This could be the cream of the group. Light fizz, malt and slightest touch of yeast

Flavor of apple and cherry on the finish. Well balanced

The last of my original WineBerserkers order. Opened about 90 minutes prior to the first pour to allow this wine to air out. Much more of a rich purple color than your standard Pinot with sharp blue and red fruit aromas.

The 14.7% ABV figure is no joke, as this wine is more than medium-bodied with ample acidity and good grip from the tannins. Excellent concentration with notes of black currant, blackberry, cranberry, and sweet tobacco. Good length on the finish. It's important to note also that each glass is just a little better than the one before.

Similar to the Ariane, but to a slightly lesser extent, this wine will benefit from more cellar time. If you can't wait however, it's excellent now.

With the herbals this seemed to already be in a negroni territory out of the gate. Adding a bit of fresh orange juice knocks it out of the park. Also enjoyed it mixed with some bubbly.

Purchased at tasting in Oregon. Newish producer Sun Break, these grapes sourced from Cortell-Rose vineyard. https://sunbreakwinecider.com/wine/

Dijon and Pommard clones, whole cluster.
12.9% ABV

Opened clean. Notes after ~1 hour decant in the bottle.

Lovely ruby red.

Nose of fresh red cherries, moss, wet forest floor, grape stems, perhaps a touch of salt spray.

Taste. Cherries, pomegranate, graduating to well structured middle. The whole cluster impact is there with a bit of forest floor, cooking spice, and subtle saline towards the back. The back is gentle and lingering on the tongue for a good 20-30 seconds with good acidity, charcoal, salted caramel.

Looking to see how this one ages.

Medium ruby. Mild nose, some funky elements. On the palate nice density of fruit, well balanced, medium+ finish. Surprising level of body for a lower alcohol wine. Enjoyable, surprising depth, may well improve with further time.

I can’t be the only one who gets a massive amount of smoke taint on this? Which is really a shame as the underlying parts here are really good. But the scotch peaty flavor is… a lot. That said, the smoke is integrated to the point that it’s almost mezcal like. Maybe I’ll have a bit of citrus and salt with the next one.

Tried chilled up and also with a splash of club soda. Brandy backbone and rose wine is dry, 3% RS, 17% ABV. Botanicals are easy going and are crisp, floral and herbal.

Really good Rose of Pinot Noir. not just a summer sipper this has more body and gravitas than a lot of Roses, and could really be enjoyed year round.

Really enjoyed it, and a very good QPR from Sun Break...

Agreed with the earlier review. The nose doesn't reflect what you taste on the palate. Going to do a 3 day tasting on this one. day 1 is fresh lively cherry, prominent acidity and nice tannins. Will see where it goes over the next 2 days.
Day 2 - much the same as day 1. Felt more rounded but still quite prominent barnyard on the nose.
Day 3 - Surprisingly the barnyard has completely blown off, but there is tons of cherry and a bit of strawberry going on, with no change to the level of acidity. The nose is a bit mute but the wine is shining today.
Upped my score to 90 based on Day 3 showing. Not going to touch my other 2019s for a long time based on this little experiment.

For my tastes, this was opened way too soon, but in the interest of science.....the small stem element was detectable but not obtrusive, red fruits on the nose and palate, good balance, with time perhaps the mid palate will fill out more.

it took a couple hours for the funk to blow off, after which the wine showed red fruit and hints of savory, balanced by a nicely balanced blend of acid and tannin.

Decanted for about 45 minutes. Clear medium-light ruby. Nose of sweet red cherries, red currants, stems, and earth. On the last glass, more spices and stems come out. Medium light bodied, a bit lower on the acidity than I care for, and easy drinking. Juicy, but not sweet, red cherries, currants, a bit of citrus, and a bit of earth. Light and smooth tannins help structure the wine. Tart cranberry and cherry finish with black tea, spices, and minerals providing support.

Overall, this shows very nice. Easy drinking and serious at the same time. Enough structure to stand up to lighter foods, but I would not push it too with heavier meals.
