9/8/2023 - xinco Likes this wine: 93 pointsPerhaps my favorite surprise of the year? I wish I had a bunch more of this. It wasn’t an inexpensive bottle, as I think it was a last ditch hype by the owners of Vista Hills before the sale to cash out. But as it turns out, it was more than worth it. |

11/10/2022 - lake.vino Does not like this wine: 86 pointsThis wine is reasonably well - made - and I am not very fond of it at the same time. Nose has nice sour cherry and earthy mushroom there - and then this wallop of oak - and, at that, a sweet, treacly oak. palate has acid, OK fruit, blackberry and sour cherry, and again, immense coarse oak. |

7/1/2021 - aeromark86 wrote: 90 pointsVery round. Almost chewy texture. The nose has the typical dark berry pie fruit of vista hills. The taste lingers for a long time on the tongue. Great to have right now. May mellow more with age but has no more punchy tannins. Luscious and ready to consume |

8/31/2020 - xinco wrote: 85 pointsOverwhelmingly oaky. Little to no integration with the wine. Perhaps it will improve with a few more years of cellaring, but I'm not holding out much hope for it. Right now it's like you are chewing on a stick while drinking some good pinot. |

6/26/2020 - wmccone54 Likes this wine: 91 pointsDecanted, and enjoyed with salmon. Made in a style which is personally appealing: very light texture, a medium ruby color with garnet edges; exudes a more delicate, feminine flair. Close to maturity. Aromas of earthy, decaying leaves, dried spice and cola. Flavor profile reflects stewed raspberry, overly ripe strawberry, cooked cherry, cola, and wet forest floor, underscored with some rocky earth. Complex and silky mouthfeel with balanced red fruit, and medium acidity; oak and tannin are well in the background. Medium finish. Unlikely to improve with further cellaring, but probably good for another 1-2 years. Based on my experience enjoying two bottles and others notes, I think this wine does best with both food and decanting. |

6/23/2020 - Djfermentation Likes this wine: 92 pointsWow, can’t believe how much we enjoyed this white Pinot noir. Definitely tasted like a domestic sparkling without the bubbles in a good way. Very food friendly with the Cowgirl Creamery fromage Blanc and the other charcuterie. Easy to enjoy, dry, with robust acidity to keep it alive. |

4/8/2019 - arthrovine wrote: NRPopped and poured. Followed over several hours. The wine is oaky and unfortunately the red fruit and spice box is dominated by a hint of cinnamon, and quite a bit of caramel. Midpalate was a bit hollow. Finish was a little clipped. Too much work (craftsmanship) went into this wine. |
