Cherry-red color with a touch of bricking at the rim;
Grignotte cherries on the nose; quite intense bouquet with red berries. Quite an intense and charming bouquet!
On the palate very Burgundy-like feel: Smooth, elegant, pure Pinot fruit: Very attractive and there is a lot of "there" there.
this wine has everything it could and should have and everything is in its right place.
Like the back tabel on the bottle said: A special wine; this one is not hyped up.
With the 2013 Ayoub Estate Vineyard bottling this is the best Oregonian Pinot Noir tasted in the last 36 months.
What a pity it was my last bottle!

I actually quite liked this. Not as heavy or hot as many CA Pinots, so reflects the cooler climate, but still quite rich. Nose full of raspberry and currants, vanilla and mushroom. Palate has a sweet spice element to it as well as tight acidic grip in back. This to me may not have had a ton of complexity to it, but it had none of the tiresome faults of so many New World pinots. Tannins well integrated and the whole wine nicely balanced for its size. Not at all tiring to drink.
Score : 91. Relative to expectations : ++

Solid Pinot on the larger side.

Dark purple with hints of ruby red. Warm aroma with big red fruits and subtle earth.

Medium+ in body with good acids and balanced alcohol. Soft mouth feel and decent finish. To be honest I expected more and not sure why. This is drinking well now and should for several years.

Probably the last vintage of this wine, as Bill Hatcher steps back. a sappier expression on the nose. some lady bug. more spice on the palate. some lively 7up-ness on the palate.

Almost cabernet-like on the nose with dense aromas of fresh herb, old world woodsy notes and chalky black fruit. The palate is ripe, soft and lacking enough acidity, showing plenty of blackberry and blackcurrant fruit that has a touch of apple towards the finish.

Drinking well right now. Nice fruit flavors with nuanced raspberry. Improved as it opened up and the glass that I had on day 2 (with VacuVin) was excellent.

Red and dark cherry aromas. Full and fleshy on the palate. Structured and enjoyable now. Getting into some cola, without the laden down RRV weight. A little lighter side of RRV. Some red raspberry. Med/+ acid. Quite good again.

Medium-to-full bodied Oregon Pinot, as is the M.O. with the '12 vintage. Red and blue fruits;well-integrated tannins. Should appeal to those who appreciate a bigger style Pinot. Drink or hold.

Enjoyed in a tasting, excellent bottle!
The wine looks violet colored. The legs are fast. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, red currant and raisin. It tastes like blackberry, red currant, fig, raisin and clove. The body is light/medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

Currant, anise, very light brown sugar on the nose. Classic Hatcher, no fruit in a very fruit forward vintage. Full body with wonderful layers of balanced acidity and the nice presence of tannins. Great mouthfeel. Very juicy through the body with a slight hint at some dark fruit, but mostly earthiness and maybe some mushrooms. The finish is long with balanced acidity. The aging potential on this wine is great.

Decanted and paired with mildly spicy coconut chicken stir-fry. This took about 3+ hours to really open up, and once it did, it was lovely. Dark, violet crimson color. Powerful nose brings fresh cut violets, candied raspberries, roasted rhubarb, and a nice, well-integrated hint of funky earth. The palate is medium, well-layered and textured, but not completely accessible yet, bringing layers of dark cherries, ripe raspberries, red hard candy, hints of green apples, and some scattered burned oaky notes into the finish. The finish is still tart and tight, but surprisingly accessible for a baby at two years old. Definitely hold for a few more years and drink 2016-2026.

I liked this a lot better the last time I had it, not sure why. This is a decent bottle of wine but just not my style. Really great fruit, starting to show some earthy tones and some complexity. For me though it seemed too sweet and a bit "pumped up." Blind, my guess is I'd have picked this as a Cali. pinot. A very nice bottle of wine, just not my style. A solid wine you can drink now and over the next 5-10 years.

PnP, consumed over several hours. A little tight on the nose but there is definitely a little raspberry and Asian spice there. Taste is red fruit (raspberry, strawberry, a bit of cranberry) more spiciness and just a bit of oak. Really this is about mouthfeel and weight: silky and light, very feminine and lovely.

Probably close to 5 years since my first bottle. What a difference! The Pinot has evolved very gracefully into a wonderful and complex wine. Deep and dark cherry fruit. Some smoke and a touch if funk but still fresh. Really long and elegant finish. Worth the wait.

Slightly bricked ruby red. The nose is a blast of strawberry and sweet cherry. Fuller bodied with a load of sweet red fruit. Some tannins persist, this is in a good drinking window, but is a bit sweet alone. Would sing with the right food.

Ordered off a list at a restaurant for $40 (great price) served with the meal then finished off the bottle at home later that night. Good balance with the acidity but overall found this either a) too young or b) just not interesting. Far too much oak influence at this this point.
