5/3/2019 - JJYoyo Likes this wine: 91 pointsI actually quite liked this. Not as heavy or hot as many CA Pinots, so reflects the cooler climate, but still quite rich. Nose full of raspberry and currants, vanilla and mushroom. Palate has a sweet spice element to it as well as tight acidic grip in back. This to me may not have had a ton of complexity to it, but it had none of the tiresome faults of so many New World pinots. Tannins well integrated and the whole wine nicely balanced for its size. Not at all tiring to drink. |

9/27/2015 - Al Doughty wrote: 89 pointsAlmost cabernet-like on the nose with dense aromas of fresh herb, old world woodsy notes and chalky black fruit. The palate is ripe, soft and lacking enough acidity, showing plenty of blackberry and blackcurrant fruit that has a touch of apple towards the finish. |

3/7/2015 - njcalzia Likes this wine: 95 pointsCurrant, anise, very light brown sugar on the nose. Classic Hatcher, no fruit in a very fruit forward vintage. Full body with wonderful layers of balanced acidity and the nice presence of tannins. Great mouthfeel. Very juicy through the body with a slight hint at some dark fruit, but mostly earthiness and maybe some mushrooms. The finish is long with balanced acidity. The aging potential on this wine is great. |

11/10/2014 - jlhkiss Likes this wine: 91 pointsDecanted and paired with mildly spicy coconut chicken stir-fry. This took about 3+ hours to really open up, and once it did, it was lovely. Dark, violet crimson color. Powerful nose brings fresh cut violets, candied raspberries, roasted rhubarb, and a nice, well-integrated hint of funky earth. The palate is medium, well-layered and textured, but not completely accessible yet, bringing layers of dark cherries, ripe raspberries, red hard candy, hints of green apples, and some scattered burned oaky notes into the finish. The finish is still tart and tight, but surprisingly accessible for a baby at two years old. Definitely hold for a few more years and drink 2016-2026. |

Really great fruit, starting to show some earthy tones and some complexity. For me though it seemed too sweet and a bit "pumped up." Blind, my guess is I'd have picked this as a Cali. pinot. A very nice bottle of wine, just not my style. A solid wine you can drink now and over the next 5-10 years. |

7/5/2013 - Bellissimo wrote: NRPnP, consumed over several hours. A little tight on the nose but there is definitely a little raspberry and Asian spice there. Taste is red fruit (raspberry, strawberry, a bit of cranberry) more spiciness and just a bit of oak. Really this is about mouthfeel and weight: silky and light, very feminine and lovely. |

Deep and dark cherry fruit. Some smoke and a touch if funk but still fresh. Really long and elegant finish. Worth the wait. |
