3/29/2024 - loganchambers Likes this wine: 92 pointsGood Friday ‘24 with reverse sear tomahawk steak and scalloped potatoes. Decanted 2 hours. I mean…really good but not spectacular as I was hoping. Still vibrant in the glass and complex, great tannins and acidity…just missing that wow factor. |

2/16/2024 - loganchambers Does not like this wine: 87 pointsNon mio gusto favorite. Really lacked acidity to cut through the waxy, lees flavours. Tried my best just didn’t find the redeeming character. |

1/14/2024 - loganchambers Likes this wine: 92 pointsPowerful nose of ripe blueberry - very fresh and inducing of summer memories. Dark in the glass, nice balance of med+ tannin and med+ acidity. Lots of strength yet still delicate. Really enjoyed and stood up well to bbq ribs and twice baked potatoes with Gruyère. |

1/3/2024 - loganchambers Likes this wine: 92 pointsReally great food Barbera from a focused DOCG. Dark ruby in the glass, ripe strawberry and black cherry…med+ acidity and tannin are in great balance. Very enjoyable - had with baked meatballs with buff mozzarella and roasted potatoes. |

11/19/2023 - loganchambers Likes this wine: 90 pointsClassic dark purple (deep purple!?!) in the glass. Warm blackberry, plum, vanilla…maybe some menthol at the end? Med+ acid helps with balance. Tasty, but not fantastic. |

10/27/2023 - loganchambers Likes this wine: 91 pointsLovely ripening strawberry on the nose and palate; nice smoky and mineral notes; med+ acidity balances out nicely. Very tasty - a great food wine. Enjoyed with Nicaraguan fried pork and cheese - not a natural pairing by any means but the wine worked well given its overall food…ness?!?!? |

2019 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-PapeRed Rhone Blend more |
9/17/2023 - loganchambers Likes this wine: 92 pointsEager to try young out of the 6-pack of ‘19s I indulged myself in getting as this is one of my favourite wines. 100% enjoyable (fresh fruit, med+ acidity for balance, smooth smooth smooth)…but hoping/expecting these will get better over time. Won’t revisit too soon - maybe again in ‘25. Until then…bon nuit Beaucastel! |

2018 Giuseppe Cortese Barbera d'Alba Morassinamore |
9/24/2023 - loganchambers Likes this wine: 90 pointsNice juicy red fruit; some earthy undertones; med+ acidity punches through and makes quenching. Prefer to smoothness of the Burzi Barbera but this was very enjoyable with grilled sausage and roast fennel. |

8/27/2023 - loganchambers Likes this wine: 92 pointsVery classic Napa Cab - but wonderfully subtle on the oak. Ripe dark fruit and vanilla, but quenching acidity. Really enjoyed with grilled lamb chops. |

6/17/2023 - loganchambers Likes this wine: 94 pointsI give this bonus points for originality! Brought one home from the winery and my Canadian guests had never had such a thing as this…and were enthralled! Straw, honey, dandelion…wonderful rosy hue…bottle had some chill on it which was perfect for sipping outside after dinner. |

6/12/2023 - loganchambers Likes this wine: 91 pointsDecanted for an hour but needed more - still quite enjoyable but not exceptional…savoury/briny notes, could use a bit more fruit & acidity to punch through and round things out…enjoyable overall. |

5/21/2023 - loganchambers Likes this wine: 91 pointsLovely baked fruit, very well balanced acidity and med tannin make for smooth drink ability. A little “thin” and a med- finish take away from my overall assessment - but very enjoyable with a grilled ribeye! |

2016 Domaine du Grand Tinel Châteauneuf-du-PapeRed Rhone Blend more |
12/24/2022 - loganchambers Likes this wine: 91 pointsGood, but a bit disappointing overall - below what I was hoping for (esp for Xmas eve with prime rib and 2hr decant). Very drinkable and tasty enough, but for a ‘16 CnDP just didn’t have the complexity expected. Cherry and leather aplenty, but kind of one note. Maybe some more aging would help! |

5/29/2022 - loganchambers Likes this wine: 91 pointsBeautiful in the glass - battle between dark and light hues makes for a really interesting light purple look. I was slightly (only slightly) underwhelmed upon tasting. Red fruit came through, and a distinct peppery undertone from the volcanic soil, med+ finish. We’ll balanced, just perhaps needs more time to evolve. Paired with grilled strip loin. |
