Bitterness on the palate that kept showing up for me that took away from my overall enjoyment. My guess is more time might take care of that but not sure. |

Initial wine of evening so was pretty much a pop and pour. This would have benefited from at least a quick decant I believe so I should have asked - noticed another table did have a decanter later. Actually the more complex of the 2 wines - seems like it would have had more whole cluster but don't actually know if that's the case. Fruit a bit more subdued. Noticeably herbal with some spice notes. Would have preferred a bit more acidity to get a bit more cut but overall an interesting wine. I'll score the same as the follow-on but more for the complexity here. I enjoyed the Tawse a bit more and would choose a glass of that over this if I could have had one more glass at end of meal. |

Excellent restaurant and one of the few higher end places in Boston where you can bring your own wine. 2nd wine of evening and paired well with the duck and dessert course. Opened at beginning of meal so probably was open an hour+. Seemed ready to drink to me but it will likely develop more secondary characteristics in the future. I prefer with the fruit still prominent so was fine now. Nice balance, cherry but not too dark. Very good but not singing - might have needed a bit more decant. |

2/18/2021 - yeti575rider wrote: 93 pointsEveryone loved this and commented as much. Everything that’s great about a “reasonably” priced burgundy. Boillot also has a bit more fruit and punch so think it appeals to broader range but this just had that mouthfeel and depth to make it really fun to drink. Would buy again in a second if I could find. |

1/28/2024 - yeti575rider wrote: NRCoravin pour so no air time which I think this needed. Not my favorite Rhys as this seemed a bit heavier than expected. Tending to the darker pomegranate and even a bit of grapefruit bitterness in the finish. Still pretty decent but will give an hour decant for rest of bottle for final judgement. |

Darker red fruit, bit of spice for added interest. Slightly heavier, likely due to 2018, but still nicely balanced and easy to drink. |

12/31/2023 - yeti575rider wrote: 90 pointsNYE (Wine 4) - Thought this would be good transition from French wines as Rhys shows shows stylistic similarities to red burgs and wouldn't shock the palate. Did the trick as this keeps that balanced profile. At wine 4 I can't particularly remember the details here but certainly worth the low 30 bucks I picked this up for. |

12/29/2023 - yeti575rider wrote: 91 pointsSour cherry with some tobacco and coffee notes. As others have mentioned this has some serious acidity which goes beyond just brightening things up to being a defining characteristic. A bit too much imho but still a nice wine. Given this, don’t see why this won’t last a while longer. |

11/26/2023 - yeti575rider wrote: 92 pointsOn an upward trajectory. 1 bottle left. Not quite as good as the Montille Sizies served before this as lacked a bit if the acidity/ punch of that one but can’t complain at all for a straight Bourgogne. Becoming my go to under 35 buck burgundy (although probably above that soon). |

11/25/2023 - yeti575rider wrote: 93 pointsNew domain for me. Took to dinner party. Actually paired reasonably well with halibut (no white wine drinkers). Everyone really liked this. Super fresh with piercing red fruit that come front and center above a well balanced acidity. Super drinkable at this point so no need to wait if you like things more fruit forward. Not sure if this will improve any from here. |

Not a shock given my current preferences but this was reasonably restrained and not too big so was still very good. Fruit holding up well so this can still go for a bit although don’t really seeing it improving. |
