3/13/2016 - subtlet wrote: NRNo formal notes, but we loved this wine. The texture is still seamless and elegent, and the fruit flavors are deep, complex, and wonderful. It rocks now, but still tastes big and young in many ways and would easily age for many years if I hadn't opened it. |

3/13/2016 - subtlet Likes this wine: NRNo formal notes, but this is drinking wonderfully now. It's light in character, but still full of wonderful grapefruit and pepper flavors as well as tons of floral notes on the nose and palate. Its future is bright, and it's good now. |

11/15/2015 - subtlet Likes this wine: NRThe nose is rich, showing blackberries and brambles filled out with smoky bacon. When tasted, it's juicy and clean. Pure cherries roll out onto the palate. It goes through a cool evolution towards dusty earth on the finish. As these flavors rise to the foreground, the fruit floats above it, keeping things friendly. Very nice. |

11/15/2015 - subtlet Likes this wine: NRLemons fill the nose, backed by a touch of apples and just a ghost of something suggesting richness. The lemons show themselves on the palate, but a touch of oak moderates and mellows the intensity of the lemon flavors. Crisp young apples show up later, bringing a little more round texture to keep things in balance. This reminds me of what I like to experience with a nice Macon. |

11/15/2015 - subtlet wrote: NRThe nose is big, round, and full, showing deep dark cherries backed by earth and a touch of barrel. The earth and dark cherries both show quickly on the palate. Black pepper and other spices show up with a delicate touch, blending well with the apple-like acidity. These structural elements do a very nice job supporting the dark elements of the wine. |

11/15/2015 - subtlet wrote: NRAromas of dark cherries, leather, nutmeg, and dark earth all rise evenly from the glass. This is immediately enojoyabel when tasted. Dark solid fruit leads the way, with a touch of spice adding complexity. Great floral flavors rise on the mid palate, and persist. The tannins have a bit of dusty character, that blends well with the dark cherry fruit. Great QPR here. |

11/15/2015 - subtlet Likes this wine: NRThe nose on this wine is light, showing some yellow apples that have been lightly baked. When tasted, it's light, clear, and clean. There is a slow growth from early apple flavors into big, full limes. The acid takes over towards the finish, suggesting good green apples, while the core of fruit from the beginning lingers well. The acidity is still dominant here, suggesting continued evolution in the future, as well as good drinking now. |

11/15/2015 - subtlet wrote: NRThe nose is dark and spicy, with dark cherry fruit being complimented by dark earth, nutmeg, and other spices suggesting stems. When tasted, a light chalky structure supports the dark fruit, and full lime acidity runs across the entire palate. Towards the finish, the acid rises to the foreground, and the dark fruit lingers underneath. |

11/15/2015 - subtlet Likes this wine: NRAromas of dusty, dark earth rise above scents of dark cherries on the nose. The cherry flavors deliver quickly and well on the palate, while lime acidity keeps things bright, and a touch of heat nudges in on the finish. |

11/15/2015 - subtlet Likes this wine: NRThis is all Oregon on the nose. Scents of cherries blend with spices and wet forest floor. There is a great burst of tart cherries and strawberries on the palate, along with a touch of roses. Raspberries linger with good acidity, and the cherries have a good sense of depth. A little earth shows here too, but the fruit is dominant. |

11/15/2015 - subtlet Likes this wine: NRThe nose shows spicy roast beef aromas, with cloves and black pepper in the mix. Firm structure is present across the entire palate. Light pomegranate flavors hit on contact, and a hint of rose petals rolls across the middle. Structure dominates the experience on the mid palate right now. Great blackberry flavors swirl underneath this weight, and they linger well into the finish. It's a little big for me right now, but I do look forward to tasting it with some age. The complexity and flavors are here now, and some softening of the structure will take it a long way. |

2013 Holden Wine Company Pinot Noir Bjornson VineyardEola - Amity Hills more |
11/15/2015 - subtlet Likes this wine: NRThis is dark on the nose, with rad earth and pomegranates brooding. It's a full wine on the palate, but still distinctly Pinot Noir. Full acid races across the palate supporting pomegranate and cherry flavors. This definitely breaks the cliche' of what one can expect from 2013, and will appeal to those who like dark character in their wines without too much weight. |

11/15/2015 - subtlet Likes this wine: NRThe nose is light here, with faint pear aromas. Light pears show on the palate as well, with fruit and skins intact. There is good texture here, along with a floral touch, making for a pleasant and simple white. |

11/15/2015 - subtlet Likes this wine: 85 pointsThe aromas remind me of blackberry syrup poured over dark earth. When tasted, the syrup delivers a huge burst of blackberry flavors up front. Some acidity comes in on the mid palate, and for a moment things balance out enjoyably. But, the heavy fruit starts and ends well on top of everything else. It's dark an juicy. It's a bit much for me now. I could see it mellowing out with age, and I also think that some folks would very much enjoy it as it is today. |

11/15/2015 - subtlet Likes this wine: 90 pointsBright blackberry scents rise from the glass, wrapped by full brambles, and holding a touch of roast beef in the background. Very nice blackberries show on the palate. The brambles suggested by the nose are here, big and full. Deep dark character is supported by current flavors, while a touch of raspberries add brightness that stays in the background. The acidity is balanced here, and all flavors linger into the finish delivering good complexity. |

The blackberries show on the palate, together with nutmeg up front. The spice profile widens across the mid palate, and acidity grows, showing some green apple character. The fruit is primarily dark and rich late, while ghosts of raspberries rise above it, bringing a touch of brightness. 89+ |
