A ripe rich red with lots of red fruit and hints of spice and oak. Seemed to lack nice acidity making it a little flat. Ripe tannins. Found this bottle somewhat short on the finish. Not bad for its price range around $13-$15.

Had this at Robert's. It was good from the start, and opened up into outright delicious. Tasty, with earthiness that gives it complexity. The bargain price made this a must buy - I got several more bottle to sock away.

Note: I just realized, I actually had the '03 at Robert's but goofed and bought the '02. Will report later on how the 02s are.

This wine really opens up in aroma and flavor with some time. Dark cherry and cedar scents. Nice acidity balances the cherry liquor and spice, and fades to a tannic and meaty finish. Definitely a food wine. Great qpr. B+

Dark ruby red color. Very toasty on the nose with ripe cherry and dark berry notes. Extremely full in tannins and alcohol. As time went by it balanced out well as it's flavor rounded out to a smooth combination of fruit and toasted oak leading to a long lasting finish. I compared the experience of this wine to "drinking the blood of a virgin." Felt like I was extending my life as a vampire would with a taste of blood. Sumptuous, velvety, and invigorating.

What incredible legs on this wine. It is big, and chewy. I gave it an hour to open and it got better and better as the night went on. Deep rich color, loads of berry flavor, but soft on the finish. Very nice, and a great value.

Spicy concentrated but undefined black fruit on the nose. Unbalanced and heavy on the palate. Just seems muddled and too fat. Tart finish. With as hot as it is in Jumilla I shouldn't be surprised, but this has way too much alcohol for its own good (14.5%). I'll give it a second chance to see why the excellent WE rating.

Duck Con Feet part 1? (Cheech & Shef's): Bright red with hints of purple. Light nose, with some red fruit, strawberry. Thick red fruit on the palate, a little tart. Sweet, a little too sweet. Not quite balanced. Tastes like gamay. This disappointed me.

Dark purple - takes a few minutes to open up on the nose, but aromas of crushed berries and smoke emerge with some swirling. Palate also fairly closed on the attack, but the finish is where this wine really shines - rich flavors of blueberries, plums, and stones last for 30 seconds.

Probably a bit underrated by Parker at 86 points. It is very integrated now but perhaps without much personality.

An amazing, ripe blend of Mourvedre, Cabernet and Tempranillo. The color is dark, almost purple. The bouquet is generous, with dark fruits with an interesting trace of coconut. The tannins are soft and it has a smooth generous finish. As far as Spanish wines go, this is more "international" in style -- it is much more about the fruit than the oak. Another great wine from Spain from the 2001 vintage.

Tasted at a Spanish Wine Tasting on 8/2/04. A blend of 50% Monastrell (Mourvedre), 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 25% Tempranillo. Very dark purple and tasted a bit pruney and spicy. A good value at about $18 retail.
