Such effortless charm and silkiness, such subtle flavours of dark raspberry and plums over a blackcurrant base, really enjoyable. No hurry at all, this is actually getting better. |

I had given it a long decant, but it improved immeasurably overnight, calming down and becoming stricter, the tannins exerting a lot more influence than at first. Very creamy and elegant, with a cooler streak of blackcurrant and a more typical Pauillac profile than at first. I wasn't at all convinced at first, but I can see this turning out extremely well in four or five years time. |

Lovely black fruits, liquorice, and spicy peppers on the nose. The taste shows a very integrated dark fruit profile, with menthol dominating the mid-palate. Lower acidity levels but with round, soft tannins. Medium-length finish with some tar and liquorice. Interesting to drink this 30-year-old wine alongside more recent vintages, showcasing the relative freshness and age-worthiness of Grosset Gaia. |

My son guessed the right bank of Bdx, but was a little unsure about the left bank as he thought it was a Cabernet. When I asked if he thought it was warm or cold grown, he understood that it was not a Bdx, then he guessed Toskana/Bolgheri or Napa....I like the way he thinks 👌💯. |
