Wonderful wine! I picked up this bottle in Barcelona over a decade ago and it had to move with me several times since then. Storage conditions have not always been ideal, so I did not have high expectations. But even after all that the wine presented itself just beautifully. Still very fresh and fruity and vibrant. Notes of cherry, a perfect acidity and a really long finish. Could still taste it after a minute. Beautiful!

Apparently CT is saying I’ve had this before and completely forgot. Sort of understand why now — very well made but indistinctive Priorat.

Not overly complex, but perfectly delicious example of the region. Typical Garnacha/Carinena blend, with added Cab and Syrah.

2 hour decant opens a classic nose of red plum, cherry sauce, graphite, mulch, anise and sweet smoke.

Palate is lovely, with juicy red fruit, surprisingly fine, moderate tannin and moderate acidity.

Palate shows the same profile, earthy, dense, tight tannins, alcohol heat, full body, more on the red fruit side than black, currant, prunes, long finish

Palate shows juicy tannins, full body, tight, 15%, very fresh, earthy, edgy and rather angry at this point, needs plenty of time, med body, long finish

Tasted after a 75 minute decant. Dark ruby in colour with lovely initial aromas of earthy liquorice/leather transitioning to sweet floral & caramel.
On the palate, medium bodied tart red/black fruit, blackberry/raspberry/strawberry, floral note, caramel, medium acidity, medium soft tannins with a long finish to spice/pepper, sour cherry, leather & chalky minerality. Nicely done, & definitely bottle aging potential, but not as good as the 2019 at this point in time!
Still great flavour on night #2.

The wine is clear, with deep purple color, and thick legs.

On the nose the wine is clean, with medium plus primary aroma intensity of ripe red fruits, plums, strawberry jam, redberries, hints of floral, purple flowers blossom, hints of herbaceous.

On the palate the wine is dry, with medium plus acidity, medium plus green-coarse tannins, high alcohol, medium plus body, medium primary flavor intensity of ripe red fruits, cassis, hints of herbaceous, hints of floral, sweet flower honeydew.
Finish is long.

The wine is of a very good quality overall, as it is showing great balance between acidity, fruit concentration, pronounce alcohol and even hints of minerality towards end palate.

It was for sure youthful at time of tasting, but also pleasant enough to enjoy if you like this style of tannic-defiantly-too-young-to-drink-bold-reds.

On the palate the wine is dry, with medium plus acidity, medium plus green tannins, high alcohol, medium plus body, medium plus primary flavor intensity of ripe red fruits, plums, strawberries, hints of pomegranate, along with medium secondary flavor intensity of sweet oak spices and coffee.
Finish is long, and dominated by green unripe fruit.

The wine is of a very good quality, as it was showing excellent balance between acidity, high alcohol and fruit concentration.

Although it was youthful at time of tasting, it is giving a glance to its potential in about 15 years or so of bottle aging.

On the nose the wine is clean, with medium plus primary aroma intensity of ripe fruits, plums, red berries jam, hints of herbaceous, floral, along with medium secondary aroma intensity of oak spices, coconut.

On the palate the wine is dry, with medium plus acidity, medium plus green tannins, high alcohol, medium plus body, medium plus primary flavor intensity of ripe red fruits, plums, strawberries, redberries, cassis, floral, hints of purple flower blossom.
Finish is long, and dominated by alcohol across all palate.

The wine is of a good quality overall, however I found the alcohol on this one to be just a bit overpowering next to the acidity, and fruit concentration.

Judging the older vintages, this will soften down a bit, and more secondary and tertiary aromas & flavors will come to the front, thus definitely something to look for within a decade or so.

The wine is of a very good quality overall, as it is showing pleasant balance between acidity and high alcohol heat. Fruit concentration is excellent.

The wine was expressive enough at time of tasting, and although tannins are quite integral and ripe, it needs more bottle aging, as it is dominated by primary aromas & flavors.

On the nose, the wine is clean, with medium plus primary aroma intensity of ripe red and black fruits, strawberries, plums, blackcurrant, medium secondary aroma intensity of chocolate, cacao, coconut, and medium minus tertiary aroma intensity of coffee, caramel, and hints of slight almonds.

On the palate, the wine is dry, with medium plus acidity, medium plus ripe tannins, high alcohol, medium plus body, medium plus primary flavor intensity of ripe red fruits, plums, cassis, along with medium tertiary flavor intensity of cooked vegetables, coffee and caramel.
Finish is long.

The wine is of a very good quality, as it is showing excellent measure balance between acidity, fruit concentration and multilayer aromas & flavors profile, both fruit & earth driven.

The wine was very expressive and developed at time of tasting, however still showing slight green notes towards the end palate, thus maybe just couple more years of bottle aging to reach its peak.

Tasted after a 90 minute decant. Dark ruby in colour with lovely aromas of earthy liquorice & leather. On the palate, full bodied savoury black fruit, blackberry/black cherry, leather, brown sugar, hint fig, medium acidity, medium soft tannins with a long finish to pepper & liquorice. The flavour & complexity of this wine is excellent! Need to try the next vintage!

Sampled my first bottle from the case using Coravin.
Initially very tannic but softened after 15-20 minutes.
Strong berries, chocolate touches, reminds me of Cab Sauv more than old vine Grenache.
I liked the acidity.
Needs.far more time than the 2017-2022 suggested on here. Far more relaxed about not having opened the case seeing how big this wine is, easily another 10-15 years in this wine.

Very heavy on the cherries what I adore. The alc. contrary to my previous note is contained fairly well albeit still noticeable. This wine is probably full bodied but appears lighter. Very elegant. It is ready to drink now but can be stored for another 8 years. This is top notch stuff.

Mi segunda añada, la primera fue la 2017 catada en Falset durante la feria del vino del Priorat de 2019. Esta edición de 2014 está elaborada con Garnacha, Cariñena, Syrah y CS (58-25-10-7%) y tuvo 12 meses de crianza en barrica de roble francés. Alc. 15% vol. Color rubí con ligero ribete teja. Aromas terciarios de fruta cocida, tierra, especias varias. En boca es muy pulido y sutil, pero con buena fruta, acidez mantenida, cuerpo medio y final medio-largo. Muy placentero, incluso en razón de los recuerdos de Falset.

Much darker than 2018, showing density, black fruit, again herbal notes, thin oak frame, very elegant with finesse despite its freshness
Palate again showing finesse, powerful, high intensity, tight tannins, stalky freshness, long finish
Needs far more time to settle down and come together, but it’s a thing of beauty

Palate showing elegance, ripe – full on – fruit, verry, tight tannins, well structured, 15% warmth, inky, blue berry, full body, long finish.
It’s still very youthful, juicy
