10/31/2021 - Marc wrote: 84 pointsFinal Wine Tasting Dinner of 2021: Medium-dry Riesling with good intensity, lime peel, and wet stone. Still young, this wine offers a moderately sweet and lush finish that is preceded by a slightly coarse palate profile. Fabulous match with an Asian Whitebait preparation. |

4/12/2021 - Michael Mackenzie Likes this wine: 87 pointsAn interesting proposition at the price point for a good Kiwi Pinot so merited a try. Also because of the Canterbury appellation as a contrast to more widely known regions. Interestingly on the winery's website it is not there, so perhaps discontinued. Bizarre as they are Canterbury based. |

Cool climate, acid-driven style, with citrusy character together with reddish berries and flowers, and oak that sticks out and seems to throw everything off. Might have been a pleasant, budget-friendly wine without the incongruous oak. As it is, a miss. |

4/24/2017 - The years of the grape Likes this wine: 91 pointsLess fruit than the Caterbury and Waipara bottlings of the same produce, more ethereal, with dried leaves, a touch of leather, toast, white pepper, coffee beans and a flint minerality. Raspberries and red cherries stay in the background. |

4/24/2017 - The years of the grape Likes this wine: 89 pointsRed cherry and strawberry, but the fruit is less bright than the Canterbury Pinot Noir from the same producer and a darker, toasty, smoky quality adds complexity. Body and tannins are still medium though, with medium + acidity. Slightly more intense than the aforementioned Canterbury and definitively more savoury. |
