St. Helena more

This bottle was decanted about an hour before consumption began. The nose was effusive from the very beginning with dark fruits, sweet oak and herbs in the mix. I was worried my bottle might be corked as other reviewers have had flawed bottles, but this wine was drinking beautifully and still has life left in it for sure. Balanced with fully integrated tannins and acid and tons of fruit and a great finish. Wish I had more........ I liked it as well as the 1996 Dominus that was in the lineup this night.

Popped and poured a small amount and then vinturi decanted the rest of the bottle. Very nice aged Napa nose which opened up in about an hour. Perfectly balanced on the palate with rich blackberry, vanilla, flavors with an opulent mouth feel. Very nice length on the finish as well. This is drinking great right now. I'm glad I have one more left.

This wine is still drinking great! It has gone through some phases for sure, but still enjoy this wine immensely. Rounder and very integrated at this point with less acidity. I'm not sure how much longer this will keep holding up but it's in a real great zone right now. Pop n Pour! It was still drinking great the next day with just re corking. 92 pts.

This cabernet is drinking great right now. Was very nice after 1hr. decant and even better 2 days later after using WineLife (argon gas) and re-corking. This has very nice aromatics, and seamless texture with a very nice finish. Even a bit of a caramel component in the flavor characteristics. Bright cherry fruit in the nose and on the palate, very nice balance of acidity, tannins, and fruit. Great QPR cab. that is drinking very well right now. Solid 90 pts. I got this for around $11.00 which is a great price for a cab like this.

This is a no brainer. What more can you ask for from an $11.00 bottle of red wine. This stuff is a great go to wine and is even better three days later after a decant and gassing and a re-cork. Enticing nose of blackberry and cassis and subtle camphor. The palate is rich and has grip, with a very nice big mid palate where the fruit shines, followed by very good length with a some what tannic finish, but all in all this stuff rocks. I will buy more.

This is a rock solid Cote Du Rhone and although very young it still drinks very well. Very nice purity of fruit. Clean and balanced with very nice Cote Du Rhone characteristics. Pepper, minerality, and some herb and meat characteristics. I will buy more and wait for it to develop.

O.K. I am totally surprised by this one. For the price tag of $5.99 this is an absolute steal! Great aromatics of cherries and smoke carry through on the palate. A very nice palate texture and chocolate and bright cherry fruit with a very respectable finish. I don't know what more you could ask for in a wine at this price. I will buy a case for sure. Great QPR and a super everyday quaffer!

This is good but not as good as the '07. It does not have the opulent, supple feel on the palate that the '07 has. Nice fruit, but not as unique or intriguing as the '07. I would buy more if I could find it for under say $14.00

Wow, what a nice surprise. When I used the Venturi to decant these the aromatics were jumping from the decanter and Venturi. Really nice deep black cherry fruit. Tannins a little dry but not offensive. Nice palate feel and very enjoyable. These Beringer Knights Valley cabs have always been a good value when on sale in my opinion. For the most part they do improve with cellaring.

I was surprised by this one. I had not had a Chardonnay by this producer before. It was a closeout buy for under $6.00 that I bought on a whim.
Nice nose of honeysuckle and vanilla with citrus, and on the palate citrus, butter, and caramel. Not bad acidity either, and decent balance. I would certainly buy it again at $6.00 . Great QPR!

Lower 80's is an accurate score for this $8:00 quaffer. It has to much of a medicinal cough syrup characteristic to it's profile. Luden's black cherry would be an accurate description. It softens a lot on the second day and is drinkable. The '07 version fits the same profile. I would look for other
cabs. in the same price range for cheap daily consumption.

This wine is drinking fantastic right now. I have always enjoyed this one, and it has peaked at this time. Gobs of succulent dark fruits and asian spices. Wonderful nose of blackberry, cassis, vanilla, and spices. Enough tannins left to provide some grip and excellent length on the finish. Fantastic with dijon rosemary bread crusted rack of lamb.

This wine has changed a lot since I last had it. Change for the better. Nose of Herbs and pepper and dusty Dry Creek fruit. After a two hour venturi decant, this stuff is ready to go. Elegant Zin with somewhat drying tannins on the finish. Nice palate texture, and very thick clinging legs in the
glass. Smooth and satisfying. Good blackberry and currant fruit profile. The alcohol has really become less obvious, not hot at all. Looking forward to enjoying the rest of this with grilled southwestern chicken sausages. Yes!

This was decent but not as good as the '06 Beringer P.R. which was richer and more complex. This may get better with some more time though. Not heavy on the palate and decent balance with enough acidity to give the nectarine and white peach flavors good length.

This is still rounding out and I think will be drinking better in another year. Very good buttery, oakey, California Chard. with decent aromatics and nice green apple and caramel notes on the palate. Good acidity and balance. Very nice with shrimp scampi and pesto linguine. I don't think I would buy at the going retail of about $27.00 but at more than ten dollars less than that this was a great buy. Glad I have more, but I will wait.

I wanted to drink this one up as it was an '04. Still drinking nicely but I would consume soon if you have any. Acidity is starting to fade. Still delicious and lots of butter, caramel, baked apple, and cinnamon notes. Very rich, and color showing the age on this one. Still glad I picked this one up at a great closeout price. This was followed by the '06 Beringer P.R. Chard. which is very similar in style but with brisk acidity and not quite as rich or heavy although I would bet that in a couple more years will be drinking very similar to this '04

It has been awhile since I've had this wine. It was a very pleasant surprise actually. The wine has really gained body and some interesting complexity. Very smoky and good aromatics as well. Black cherry fruit on the palate. Glad I have a couple more bottles. Would make a nice match for a great cigar. Fantastic QPR as I believe I only paid about $5.00 when I bought this juice. I would consider buying newer vintages and waiting for them to come around like this one.

A classy, polished zin. This was popped and decanted the day before, gassed and re-corked. It is drinking very nice tonight. Aromatics of Cherry pie, c innamon and some vanilla. Palate texture is supple and the fruit explodes on the back end. Nice juice. Recommend the described decant as it makes a huge difference. Palate flavors of raspberry, spice, white pepper. This drinks somewhat hot when first opened.

This is not a bad deal at all for $8.99 @ Costco. I was not overly impressed at first ( after a 1hr decant using the veturi) but as time went on this wine did open up and was quite enjoyable. Not really complex or intriguing but it was a very decent quaffer, with good fruit and some nice bordeaux characteristics. No astringency or anything offsetting about it at all. Good QPR for an '05 bordeaux. Can improve I believe.

I was fortunate to snag 4 more of these on a closeout deal for about $7. Love these kinds of deals. This is a very solid chard. with a very nice butterscotch element on the finish. Nice baked apple cinnamon flavors on the palate, and decent acidity and a nice mouthfeel as well. I will buy more if another opportunity arises. There may be others this good at the retail price of $14 - $15 but at $7 this is hard to beat.
