Red Bordeaux Blend more

Decant if drinking before 2018. Wouldn't have guessed it's a Meritage blend, but I'll buy a case to stick in the cellar if priced right. Not much nose.

Lots of oak, medium body. I liked this wine a lot. Reminds me of French Chablis in taste.
The legs are Medium. The body is Medium. The wine finishes Short.

Nice finish on this inexpensive pinot. Not complex, but very pleasant. I purchase this wine by the case at $13.50/bottle.

This is extremely fruit forward for a Cab, but leaves the mouth with a pucker due to the tannins. At under $10, it's a wine that many of your non-wine enthusiastic friends will enjoy. Almost no bouquet, but what do you expect at this price. GREAT BUY!

Pinot Noir more

This is the best Pinot Noir that I have tasted from France, price not withstanding. Strawberries, a hint of liquorish with a long aftertaste. Good tannins. Will drink well for sometime, I believe. Tasted at Tantra restaurant in Atlanta and this was clearly the crowd's favorite.

2005 Earthworks Cabernet Sauvignon

Barossa Valley more

Earthworks is appropriately named, as this wine when first opened tasted extremely earthy, too much so for my tastes. Vegetable aromas not unlike reds from South Africa. I definitely tasted asparagus. The wine didn't seem to open up at all in the first few hours. Perhaps I have a flawed bottle of some sort but it is neither corded or oxidized. I would not serve this wine to guests unless they were South African or enjoyed South African reds.
