Decanted 60min. Fresh and elegant. Floral nose, blackberry blueberry and black pepper on the palate. Smooth, fine tannins. Excellent now, but I think this will evolve nicely in bottle to reveal more tertiary flavours.

Decanted 80 minutes. Garnet red, with much less bricking than one might expect. Nose of leather, cured meat, forest floor and dried flowers. Sweet cherry and juicy (not jammy!) blackberry on the palate. Medium acidity, medium+ body. Tannins are oh-so-smooth and the finish is long and full of minerality with just a hint of pepper. Wish I had a case of this but alas, it was my only bottle.

Garnet, fading to brown around the rim. Floral and mocha nose, with some pleasant barnyard aromas that fade away after decanting. Sour cherry on the palate complimented by bouquet of flowers. Some astringency but very smooth (and sweet!) on the medium-long finish.

Tight at first, if you're drinking this now be sure to let it breathe for at least half an hour. Raspberry, cherry and a bit of floral on the nose. Red fruits and ripe plum on the palate. Not too oaky. Very elegant tannins that just melt away when paired with red meat. Excellent, long finish. This is drinking beautifully now and I'm not sure that I'd wait too long to drink it. It's losing fruitiness without gaining much in terms of tertiary notes.

Incredibly dark crimson with remarkably little bricking for a 27 year old wine. Not a lot of fruit left, but what's there is a mix of blue and black. Oak is evident but not overpowering. Tannins are still evident medium to medium plus. This wine must have been a beast upon release. The finish is medium plus, about 45 seconds. Goes well with delicate food like tartar.

Deep ruby, expressive somewhat oaky nose, full of black and blue fruit. Actually almost has the nose of a jammy Californian Pinot (which gave me a bit of a fright, to be honest).

Medium body of super ripe red and black fruit. Strawberry, black cherry, blackberry, anise. Medium+ tannins that are now well integrated. Where the oak was strong on the nose it is perfectly integrated on the palate. The wine is sweet and concentrated without being jammy.

Only thing missing is a bit more minerality/salinity. I imagine that the fruit will carry this wine for another decade, but I'm not certain it will improve from here, so why wait?

Cloudy ruby appearance with some bricking. Cherry and bright red fruit on the nose. Medium- body. Palate of black cherries, evolving to candied cherries after an hour of decanting. Anise, maple-smoked bacon, and some barnyard also begin to show. Finish was just a little bit shorter than would have liked, about 40 seconds. Paired with Asian BBQ duck and pork along with chow mein and veggies. A fantastic dinner.

Had the finish been longer, the wine not so cloudy, and had there been a bit more complexity on the palate this wine could have scored higher.

If you still have some left then drink up, I doubt this will improve.

Clear, bright ruby with a touch of amber on the rim.

Clean nose of black cherry, tobacco, violets and forest floor.

Medium+ acidity, medium tannins and a full body of bright red cherry, plum, smoke and baking spices.

Very good quality. The acidity and tannins seemed to be fighting the fruit rather than complementing it. Showed better integration on the second day, so I believe this wine will benefit from another year or two in bottle.

Fresh and crisp, with a bouquet of green fruit and a touch of petrol. Green apple, citrus (lime and lime zest), and loads of minerality on the palate. Plenty of crisp minerality on the finish. Eminently drinkable, it's amazing how quickly the bottle disappears! Enjoyed with a Christmas eve dinner of mussels in white wine sauce, shrimp hors d'oeuvres, and beer battered cod.

Clear medium+ ruby with some bricking at the rim. Clean nose of red fruit, violet, forest floor and crushed rocks. Medium+ acidity, medium totally integrated tannins, medium body. A whole garden of flowers on the palate along with blueberry, cassis, and fig newton. A shorter than expected finish, but what finish there was was a delightfully flinty minerality and a hint of blackberry tartness. Delightful, though the fruit is beginning to fade. Drink up!

Clear, bright ruby in appearance. Clean nose of cedar, vanillin, forest floor and violet blossoms. Medium acidity, medium+ but well integrated tannins, and an *almost* full body. Red and black fruit on the palate with cherries and cassis currant coming through. Long, tannic finish. Tannins and acidity will keep this wine alive for another decade, but I'm not certain it will benefit the wine. That tannic finish will never fully integrate.

Interestingly, my bottles (bought in Quebec) list the alcohol at a whopping 15.8% though it certainly didn't taste like too much heat.
