2007 Jermann Collio Picolitmore |
12/25/2023 - Mistress of Wine Likes this wine: NRMedium gold color. This has a lovely aromatic profile of apples, candies fruit and honey. It is medium weight, is sweet without being cloying and has good palate coverage. It went well with sheep’s milk cheese but also our not too sweet sugar cookies. A distinctive and versatile dessert wine that flies under the radar. |

3/26/2023 - Mistress of Wine wrote: NRThis bottle was strangely mute. After a couple of hours of aeration, i got some sweet fruit, lemon and stone on the nose and the palate. But it was not the wine we expected. It was very pale yellow green so it is possible this bottle needed more time. But even with that, I hope this is an atypical bottle. |

11/21/2021 - Mistress of Wine Likes this wine: NRGood fill despite a slightly dry and crumbly cork. the wine is still a limpid light yellow. Muted before an hour in the decanter and glass. Then very fresh and focused aromas of lemon, wet stone and white flower with a touch of petrol. Bone dry on the palate with lovely lift and length. Very harmonious and very much in its prime. This was a wonderful pairing with the Swabian onion tart. My last bottle today, and all have been sublime. Great vintage for this cuvée. |

1/9/2021 - Mistress of Wine wrote: NRGarnet to ruby colored. After a two hour decant, this offered very bright aromas of sour cherry, allspice, pepper and leather. It was quite powerful, but the fruit balanced the alcohol well so even I didn't think it came across as "hot." More perceptible secondary 'brown" and "black" notes as it spread across our palates (my version of synthesthesia). This is in a good window, but should gain more complexity in the next years. Delicious with roast pork. |

11/29/2020 - Mistress of Wine wrote: NRDecanted for 2 hours. Opaque violet color. Beautiful aromas of dark cherry and earth. The fruit still leads on the palate, where we also got tobacco, mushroom and space. Still with good tannic structure, though gentle, good balance and length. This remains in a very good drinking window without any signs of fading. Side by side with the Sugarille, this was more powerful. |

11/27/2020 - Mistress of Wine Likes this wine: NRDark ruby. Decanted for two hours. Nose is unusually red fruited for Chateauneuf. This now has very pleasing notes of allspice, oregano and mushroom. Full bodied. Finish is long and tart. Loping toward maturity. |

2006 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru VaudésirChardonnay more |
9/1/2020 - Mistress of Wine wrote: NRStill pale yellow green. Needed some aeration for the aromas of lime and wet stone to emerge. They were followed by a touch of tropical fruit, though not freakishly so. A wine that is still quite lively and tart on the palate. Not as much nervosite in this vintage as Chablis groupies might want, but a lovely wine nonetheless. |

8/15/2020 - Mistress of Wine wrote: NRDark garnet colored. We opened this a couple of hours early and decanted half of it. The wine still benefits from decanting. Aromas of sour cherry, spice and tobacco. Good palate coverage, smooth tannins and a nice long finish. There is enough here to balance the perceptible oak. Really delicious now. Good time to drink if you like your red/brown/black aromatics all together. |

2/15/2020 - Mistress of Wine Likes this wine: NRDeep gold. Aromas of citrus and honey with a touch of petrol. Now mouthfilling rather than linear, but still enlivened by excellent acidity. Beautiful mature Alsatian riesling. |

1/24/2020 - Mistress of Wine Likes this wine: NRI keep thinking this will be fully mature but amazingly, not yet. Enough fruit to stand up to some oak. Complexity and length without a whiff of oxidation. |

8/24/2019 - Mistress of Wine Likes this wine: NRDark ruby with no bricking. Aromas of sour cherry, spice and minerals. This really fanned out on the palate, adding notes of blueberry (we are in Maine after all) and forest floor. On opening, we had decided not to decant but thie wine clearly gained in complexity in the glass, suggesting a decant next time. This has years ahead of it and will likely gain more secondary aromatics. It is just so hard to resist right now. |

8/9/2019 - Mistress of Wine Likes this wine: NRPerfect cork. Medium yellow. Nose of Granny Smith apple, pineapple and spice. Very dense and long with lemon tart, mineral and a touch of vanilla as this fanned out on the palate. No oxidative notes at all. A beautiful grand cru white Burgundy. A bottle with no signs of fading. How long should I wait for the last bottle? |

8/1/2019 - Mistress of Wine Likes this wine: NRPale yellow green. Aromas of lime peel, stone and peach. This has started to be round more than lean but still reads as a young white Burgundy, née Chablis. |

5/19/2019 - Mistress of Wine Likes this wine: NRThis is more like it. The last bottle was clearly flawed. Medium ruby with a little bricking. Lovely aroma of sour cherry, earth and minerals. Nice palate coverage and mellow tannins. This is likely at peak but no sign of fading. |

3/27/2019 - Mistress of Wine Likes this wine: NRThis bottle is still vibrant and the oak is now complementary and not overpowering. I don’t know that this will improve but nor is it fading. What a value this was. |

3/5/2019 - Mistress of Wine Likes this wine: NRWaited 8 years to have this last bottle, since the last one was very young. Amazingly, this has aged only a little since then. A slightly darker yellow but short of gold. A little more petrol. But still bright and lively at 23 yers of age. Remarkable. |

1/4/2019 - Mistress of Wine Likes this wine: NRStill dark ruby. This is SO much better than a few years ago. It took time to open up, and I think a decant would help. In our case, after an hour in the glass, there were increasingly bright notes of red berries, allspice, menthol and earth. Bright acidity and good if not endless length. This wine was a disappointment for several years, but has now come into its own. We will hold the last two bottles a little longer. |

12/25/2018 - Mistress of Wine wrote: NRAcquired from the cellar where it has slumbered since release. Fill just below the neck. Dark garnet. Lively aromas of cassis, cigar box, mushroom and mint. Remarkable vitality and cut, with an endless finish. A wine of both great maturity and freshness. Astonishing, or as was said by a guest, “merveilleux.” |
