Some light seepage, but this was just fine. Lemon, petrol, crisp apple, rocks, and a bit more petrol. Some felt it needed more fruit, but for me this is classic CFE drinking in a very good place from magnum. A-

From a nice looking magnum, this wine had a deep yellow color. It was a bit closed at first but after several hours of air it offered up quince, lemon tart, minerals, and some dried fruit.
In the mouth, this wine changed dramatically with 5+ hours of air. It was pretty large scaled with bright, crystalline fruit, firm acidity, and excellent length.
As expected, this only had the slightest bit of sweetness and did not scream riesling. It was very attractive and could easily hold at this level for 5-10 years.

Q2 2019 Tasting - Alsatian White Varietals (The Apt): Wine #14: Touch of petrol, bit of sweet and sour. It might have been impacted coming on the heels of the ZH vendage tardive except most kept wine 13 for the end. This is just a little bit of a lot of things. Would have expected it to jump out a bit more, but it came across as a touch muted. It was a touch sweet, a touch sour, a bit of petrol. Easy to drink. (3 pennies)

Waited 8 years to have this last bottle, since the last one was very young. Amazingly, this has aged only a little since then. A slightly darker yellow but short of gold. A little more petrol. But still bright and lively at 23 yers of age. Remarkable.

Q2 - 2019 Tasting - Alsatian White Varieties from around the World (New York, NY): 14/17 wines tasted double blind. Lots of petroleum notes on the nose. Palate though is crisp and mineral, tart fruit, lingering finish. Very nice. Top 6 for me. Group voted 3 pennies.
