2015 Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valleymore |
4/13/2024 - Wine Kat Likes this wine: 92 pointsPopped and poured and enjoyed over dinner for an hour or so. Still retains good structure, but is settling into darker fruit, oak, and herby notes. Worked well with food and on its own. We have a few more from this year, so looking forward to seeing how/if they progress. |

3/2/2024 - Wine Kat Likes this wine: 90 pointsLovely pop and pour with food. This may be in a strange aging period. The nose was bright, but palate that was a bit soft but still with of cranberry and herbs. |

2/21/2024 - Wine Kat Likes this wine: 91 pointsAlbeit a tad young, this wine had nice spice on the nose and luscious fruit and some savory notes on the palate. A very solid representation of Santa Lucia. |

1/8/2024 - Wine Kat Likes this wine: 94 pointsStunning wine with a beautiful nose and luscious fruit that is giving way to hints of herb and cedar. I think this is entering into a perfect drinking window but will hold on and continue to develop and evolve. |

2015 Kind Cellars Cabernet FrancNapa Valley more |
12/30/2023 - Wine Kat Likes this wine: 93 pointsThere are some wineries that can do Cab Franc, and some not so much. Kind falls in the former category. Being able to meet the winemaker and see the facility, attention to detail is everything. Yes this is big at 15.5% alcohol, but seems to be just right balance out the deep fruit and subtle spice. |

12/25/2023 - Wine Kat Likes this wine: 90 pointsSince this is a comment 4 years after the last drinker, didn’t know what to expect. Good clarity and nearing a deep brick color. Nose is herby and still surprisingly bright on the palate. Some fruit still lingers but are giving way to more earth and herb characteristics. I’m not sure where it’s going, but a fun one to try in its middle age. |

10/28/2023 - Wine Kat Likes this wine: 93 pointsDecanted for about 30 min and this wine opened up beautifully. Explosive dark fruit flavor with a hint of herb. Still some tannins and acidity that will allow this to age, but I really liked experiencing this wine now. |

2002 Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valleymore |
8/19/2023 - Wine Kat Likes this wine: 92 pointsOpened a mag of this which did this wine a favor. Still a bit of structure and fruit, but has softened with notes of cedar and herbs. No need to decant and good to drink now. |

1970 Château ClimensBarsac Sémillon more |
8/18/2023 - Wine Kat Likes this wine: 94 pointsThis has turned into a wonderful surprise. If you’re lucky enough to taste, the nose is floral and apricot, and mouth is rich, lucscious, citrus and honey. Good to drink now, but who knows where it will go. |

1961 Château Latour Grand VinPauillac Red Bordeaux Blend more |
8/18/2023 - Wine Kat Likes this wine: 93 pointsAfter decanting for a few hours, this wine is regal. It is one of the best older vintages we’ve had. Cedar and herbs in the nose, sandlewood and a litttle fruit still on the palate. Color was somewhat brick but relatively clear. Cork came out whole. My first ‘61…illuminating. |

7/8/2023 - Wine Kat Likes this wine: 88 pointsNose has notes of tawny port so thinking it would be sickenly sweet. Not the case. Mouth is intense orange peel and botanicals. So lovely to drink something this classic. |

7/2/2023 - Wine Kat Likes this wine: 93 pointsNicely balanced with no need for decanting. Still good structure but softer tannins. I’m a fan of Syrah and this one did not disappoint with notes of dark fruit and cassis. I think we opened at just the right time, but could still lay down in the bottle a bit more. |

6/16/2023 - Wine Kat Likes this wine: 92 pointsYes, a tad young, but I enjoyed it thoroughly. Didn’t even wait long to decant. Deep dark fruits that finishes with spice and licorice. A bit of cheese softened the tannins and acid, but honestly didn’t need it. |

2010 Bremer Family Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valleymore |
10/21/2022 - Wine Kat Likes this wine: 92 pointsAfter the last note a few years ago, this is still a solid wine. Tannins when first opened but soften up quickly. Cedar, licorice, and dark fruits still and long hang time make this something to enjoy and perhaps later. |

10/16/2022 - Wine Kat Likes this wine: 96 pointsI’m in awe and this can still go a few years in my opinion. Deep red color with just a hint of brick on the edges. Nose was cedar and lovely herbs. Mouth still had bright fruit but gave away to leather and tobacco with an amazing hang time. A truly amazing wine and indicative of Napa 40+ years ago. |

10/2/2022 - Wine Kat Likes this wine: 92 pointsSuch a nice showing from a classic wine. Brick around the edges but still some deep red tones in the glass. Nose was cigar and cedar. Palate was forest floor, wet earth, still good acid, but finished quickly. Drink ‘‘em if you got ‘em |

9/28/2022 - Wine Kat wrote: flawedI think this would have been wonderful in its heyday, but I suspect this one just didn’t make it through the aging process. Brown and cloudy, with a nose with a little cedar/cigar box, but underlying notes of prune and elements of vinegar. Palate was sour, vinegary with a little burnt toast. RIP |

9/24/2022 - Wine Kat Likes this wine: 94 pointsThe oldest Sauternes I’ve tasted (so far), and I was pleasantly surprised on how well balanced this was. Still some acidity, but a long finish with some hints of caramel and brown sugar. Beautiful |
