Padthaway

==== Region ====

"....fine wines, towering redgums, sweeping expanses of premium vineyards, a mediterranean climate and magnificent sunsets..."

Padthaway township is situated on the Riddoch Highway, just a short drive south of the main route between Adelaide and Melbourne. The unique granite "Padthaway Marker" symbolises the region's agricultural enterprises of livestock, grain, seeds, horticulture and vineyards. The marker is a fine example of locally quarried green granite; a product that is exported worldwide.

The picturesque region is now recognised as producing some of Australia's finest red and white wines. Seppelts pioneered the lush limestone plain in 1964 and were soon joined by other vignerons drawn to the area by the combination of mediterranean climate, reliable rainfall and the famous terra rossa soil.

These conditions, coupled with an excellent underground water supply, ensure premium quality grapes, filled with intensity and flavour, and perfect for the production of fine wines.

The fertile limestone plain is now home to such renowned wineries as Browns Of Padthaway, Fosters Estate, Hardy Wine Company, Henry's Drive, Morambro Creek, Orlando Wyndham and Padthaway Estate

While visiting Padthaway savour the quality of our premium wines by calling in for cellar door tastings and sales at the Padthaway Estate and Stonehaven.
