Alleanza

The word Alleanza in translation means alliance. It signifies the combined efforts of two very talented winemakers from different parts of the world. Giancarlo Roman from Tuscany and Ed Sbragia from the Napa Valley, have united together to produce a balanced expression of old and new world wines.

This innovative wine is the result of new product development research at Castello di Gabbiano and a precise fermentation process. The wine is aged in small French oak barrels for 18 – 20 months, with further refinement in bottle for about 6 months.

A wine which exudes all the characteristics of the fruit from which it originates. It is produced with the best assortment of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown on the Castello di Gabbiano estate, all of which are abundantly evident in flavour.

A full ruby red colour, this is a well balanced wine, elegant with good complexity, substantial tannins and a medium finish. on the nose it displays aromas of violet bouquet, black cherry fruity, with notes of pepper and vanilla.

Enjoy with braised meats, including lamb and game roasts, as well as aged cheese and some red pasta dishes.
