A multi-generational family winery in the under-the-radar Côtes du Vivarais AOC. Alain and son David-Alexandre work side by side, farming organically, using natural fermentation, and making innovations to improve their wines. Given their location between the Northern and Southern Rhône, the reds are often an equal mix of Grenache and Syrah. According to the importer, Kermit Lynch: "To best ensure freshness, he has installed top-loading, hatch doors over their gravity-fed tanks, so that the grapes go exactly where they need to immediately following the harvest—bypassing the cellar completely to begin their fermentation. The wines are then aged in Burgundian barrels, as the Galletys believe them to produce wines with greater finesse.
