Hondarrabi Beltza

Bizkaia, or Biscay, is one of the provinces in the Basque region of Northern Spain. It makes a wine called Chacolí de Bizkaia (in Basque Bizkaiko Txakolina) which was recognized by the creation of DO appellations in 1994. The red wine is based on the indigenous variety Ondarrabi Beltza. The white can include the indigenous Ondarrabi Zuri, Munemanatsa, and Folle Blanche. The white version is more common in the DO Chacolí de Guetaria, whereas the black is more common in the DO Chacolí de Vizcaya.
