2008 Arnot-Roberts Cabernet Sauvignon Bugay Vineyard

See wine details

Winemaker Notes - The meticulously groomed Bugay vineyard is chiseled into a volcanic ridge in Sonoma County’s Mayacama range. The cool breezes, rocky soil and naturally low yields lead to concentrated flavors and saturated color in the resulting wines. With a view of the entire Russian River Valley and farmed to perfection by the Bugay family this is truly one of California’s most beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards. The 2008 also includes 5% Petit Verdot, 10% Cabernet Franc picked from the same site and cofermented. Fermented 30% whole cluster. 6 barrels produced. The 2008 Bugay Vineyard Cabernet is a shining example of what this hillside site can achieve. Red fruited and energetic, the 2008 combines these qualities with earthy minerality from the complex volcanic soils to create a wine of both structure and finesse. As with our other two Cabernets from 2008, the wine should drink well young with a decant and continue to improve with cellaring.
