In 2009, Quivet selected a prestigious benchland vineyard in the heart of the Rutherford. Seeking the lush and dusty tannins Rutherford is known for, this vineyard reached every expectation and more. Sweet blueberry pie, notes of clove spice with a hint of lavender greet the nose with dense and lush hues of dark purple garnet in the glass. Blue fruits, notes of vanilla bean and graham continue throughout the wine with a rush of fruit forward power from the start. Right on cue, soft and dusty tannins guide the wine into a signature "Mike Smith" finish that we have grown to love & crave. This is a wine that will drink nicely now but will continue to smooth and soften over the next 5 years.
