Tasting Notes:
This is a big, rich, massive, chewy, beautiful Cabernet Franc. My first winemaking notes were “Wow, blend this into everything!” Velvety, silky, ripe and juicy, this wine is sprinkled with currants, black cherry, cayenne, vanilla bean and cigar wrapper. This 2009 vintage is one of the finest Cabernet Franc’s our property has ever produced.

Vineyard Notes:
The extraordinary 2009 growing season brought us yet another drought year, which is generally ideal for winegrapes, yet not so great for everything else. We had a beautiful, long warm sunny summer with and endless string of hot days and cool nights. The red wines emerged from the fermentation tanks with brilliant color, fantastic extraction, and ripe, mature, supple tanins. The Ehlers crew brought all of our fruit in before the onslaught of early October rains which caught many Napa Valley vintners by surprise.

474 cases
