2011 Myriad Cellars Sémillon McGah Family Vineyard

See wine details

In 2011 a small block of Semillon became available from the McGah Family Vineyard. Located a stone’s throw from several famous Rutherford vineyards, this sight is perfectly situated to produce world class Semillon.

With color similar to Napa Valley Chardonnay, this light hued golden beauty shines from the glass and emanates scents of honeydew melon, star anise and lightly roasted almonds. On the palate, honeycomb notes are combined with medium bodied intensity upfront, embracing loads of sweetened minerals, and compress onto a finish hinting a small amount of tannin that this varietal is known for. Fermented in seven year old used Burgundy barrels and aged on the lees until bottling, the finish is smooth and rich and combines all the characters of this unique Bordeaux varietal.

Consume slightly chilled in its youth or allow is to gain further complexities for up to 5 years.

100% Semillon
42 cases produced
