2007 Château Climens

See wine details

The vineyards are located at the summit of the Barsac appellation, extending over 30 hectares around the chateau. The red soils are spotted with small stones which create a small bed of sandy clay and ferrunginous soil, resting on a bedrock of limestone, giving great natural drainage in the vineyards. The average age of the vines is 35 years old." "Planted solely with Semillon, Chateau Climens is one of the rare cru level wines with a single varietal. The wine is fermented in small lots in French oak barriques that are 35-45% new. The wine is aged for 20 to 24 months.
