Winemaker Note: True to the vintage, aromatics galore soar from the glass. Ripe pie cherries, anise and Chinese five spice intermixed with a mineral component envelops the senses. Masses of red fruits coupled with fine grained tannins and an amazing mouth feel polarize the palate. While powerful & bold, there is also sense of elegance and refinement in this wine which is a common trait in most Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignons. The finish is like no other I've made. Marvelously supple tannins are framed by perfect natural acidity which interplays with red fruits, sandalwood spice and Belgium chocolate notes. Look for this wine to age gracefully for years to come and will hit its stride in the next two years.
