September 3, 2022 - Translucent dark ruby. Nose of intense violets, acrid berry, earth. Bigger wine on the palate but just keeps its balance, revealing vivacious black cherry fruit brimming with acidic vibrancy and a bit of headiness. Late-appearing notes of tea and red plum. Firm but not obtrusive tannin. Moderately long finish of piquant red and black berry gripped by earth and hints of iron. A sappy Sancerre rouge which carries its 14% relatively well.
