September 14, 2022 - This wine needs time to open, just PnP doesn't do it justice. It's 100% oak fermented and a blend of the three main grapes. It reads as an old champagne as has oxidative notes, and relatively light mousse (small bubbles). The oak influence is pretty obvious, texturally. Initially seems a little short on the finish, but with air and a little bit of warmth, broadens out and lengthens. Lots of almonds, walnuts brioche, citrus and savory notes. Zero dosage, which doesn't come across, as it has a broad and rich mouth feel. Says unfiltered but fortunately not murky at all, I'd guess riddling/disgorgement gets rid of any remaining lees etc in the bottle. Very much a gastronomique rather than aperetif champagne. Needs thinking about/contemplating.
