October 24, 2022 - MJP graciously opened this bottle at lunch with our wives in Houston. I haven't had many Abreu wines, but this is definitely a testament to how well they age. Splash decanted, but really didn't have much air as we took it down quickly. The nose and the wine itself are very complex at this stage, with lots of tertiary flavors of mushrooms and tobacco weaved in effortlessly with dark, pure concentrated fruit. A very big wine, this is aging at a lovely, restrained pace, with massive depth of flavor, wonderful integration and a super long finish.. This should drink well for 15-20 more years. Decant if opening now. Thanks again to MJP for hosting!

10/24/22, 1:10 PM - I need to go back to source and get more of these 10 Cappella as the fruit is still fully in charge even though the nose is out front. Glad I selected this wine as I think it was a winner. You might check out some Madrona Ranch next. I can make some recommendation if you want to continue to explore Abreu.
