November 12, 2022 - Similar to the last time i tasted it, except much more blackberry thn usual. We opened and closed per Justin Smith's recommendation, and it worked beautifully. This is complex and smooth with a lovely finish. My guess is it's peaking, which is fine by me since this was my last one of the vintage.

11/13/22, 6:11 AM - What is this “open and close” step that Justin recommended?

  • RobbieD68 commented:

11/17/22, 5:09 AM - He said that for best effect, open the wine, check to make sure you have a good cork, take a taste, then put the cork back in until you drink later. This is for wines between 5 and 12 years old.

Did he offer any suggestions as far as time period between recorking and reopening to drink?

  • RobbieD68 commented:

11/17/22, 5:20 AM - Same day. No other recommendation. Personally i put about 5 hours or so between them. It was delicious both times!

11/21/22, 12:56 PM - Thanks for the "open and close" tip. Just tried and it worked as advertised. Opened at 2, drank around 7:30. Now, if I only had more...
