November 23, 2022 - United Cellars Bordeaux dinner (The Gidley, King Street, Sydney): Apricot, cream, orange marmalade, sweet spice, vanilla, toast. Juicy, fleshy, quite custard, a little orange marmalade, a little woody textured, a touch cloying - the sugar a little too high for the acid.

11/29/22, 2:40 PM - happy to agree to disagree :-)
further to my earlier response I also have an 83 Bastor Lamontagne (yeah, I know, not the best producer) that I'm thinking should come on the plane with me... -

11/30/22, 9:40 AM - For a full year, I enjoyed a 1962 Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey that I kept standing, under cork, in the office, room temp and with no argon gas. It was the Sauternes for KINGS! So, away with any pre-conceived ideas that the label has anything to do with the wine trapped inside...
Looking forward to (what I think) will be my first Bastor-L...
I can hear the echo of Paul screaming: "You Bastor! You Baaaastor!" :-)
