December 5, 2022 - My previous bottle, more than two years ago, was rather disappointing. There was nothing wrong about it, but there wasn't that much to it. This is different, though. It's an orange wine, but not an orange wine. The colour can not be described in any other way than a red-ish organge. The nose has honey, botrytis, orange marmelade and a hint of lemon. Rich, linear, focused and really satisfying. Clearly an outstanding wine despite the flash of acrid smoke or ash just before the after taste - a bit like the line of ash in a Morbier cheese. It does not bother me, though. Bought inexpensively in 2015. The previous not so satisfying bottle had me wonder if I should take this to auction, but I'm so pleased I didn't.
