December 24, 2022 - Wine purchased on release in 04 or so and stored properly ever since.

medium to deep ruby with just a hint of lightening at the rim. The wine is still opaque with 20 plus years of age!

Pronounced and fully mature nose of cassis, lead pencil, vanilla and even a chocolate covered cherry note. No sign of fatigue on the nose.

Medium bodied with medium acidity and a hint of tannic structure. The flavor concentration and mouthfeel are excellent. The wine finishes medium plus.

Just a delicious wine for fans of " classic" St Julien (whatever that means....) . Drink now or hold for another decade plus in a cold cellar. This style of St Julien seems to last forever.

As a final comment- the wine should be decanted carefully- this bottle threw off a huge amount of sediment.
