January 16, 2023 - Dark reddish garnet in color with slight clearing at the edges. Full, fragrant & attractive nose of ripe red fruit aromas of cherries, blueberries & plums with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes, tar, spices, tobacco, leather, minerals, herbs a hint of cedar. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe red fruit flavors of cherries, cranberries & plums with spices, dried herbs, minerals & a slight hint of oak. Lingering smooth finish. Drinks quite well with decanting & airing. At 24 years of age, it is at or close to its peak of development although it should continue hold here for a while. However, I wouldn't anticipate any further development. Fill was in lower neck; cork was stained 1/3 but otherwise intact upon opening.
