February 4, 2023 - Served by the glass in Houston’s United Polaris lounge. Deep dark purple color. Graham cracker, blueberry, blackberry, and cocoa. Smooth, dry, plush palate. Soft tannins on the medium long+ finish.
Terrifically extracted, but so easy to pound. Very much a Caymus sibling.2,794 views

3/4/23, 3:39 PM - Agreed. I find this Prisoner to be the best of a mediocre lot here in the SFO Polaris Lounge (Nota bene, I'm not a lush, but I AM on a 7 hour delayed layover here, enroute from AKL to LHR!)
I won't actually review any of these wines here on CT but IMO this one, followed by The Ferderalist Zin, and the Emiliana Natura Malbec to be the stand-outs, then Il Poggione Toscana. I found the Rainstorm PN nice but a bit too jammy upfront and too bitter in back, and the Iconoclast Cab, was, well, just plain disappointing. Also, I will say that the Lanson Brut served here was probably the poorist bubbly I have had in any airport lounge. (Wait a minute, I seem to remember being served a Freixenet cava somewhere!) But hey-ho, whether with wine or love, as Stephen Stills sang (stolen from Billy Preston), "If you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with." -
