Community Tasting Note

February 9, 2023 - The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like cranberry, raspberry, red currant, strawberry jam, mineral, forest floor, stoniness, medium toast, oak, coconut, vanilla, cinnamon, clove, violet and meaty. The body is medium. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has high acidity. Expected a bit more as it tasted a bit harsh, but overall very good, although I prefer white wines from this winery (89). After two days, I took the last glass and it was almost another wine, much better overall, not harshness with the same complexity, balance, intensity and finish.

2/10/23, 10:16 AM - I had a similar reaction to you, when I first opened the bottle. It improved nicely with air/time in the glass as I consumed 12 oz the first night. I decanted for a couple hours the second night, it showed much better. Obviously this well made wine has a long runway in front of it, but I think it drinks fine right now with sufficient decanting. YMMV. Cheers

2/14/23, 8:36 AM - You're right. I left it opened for two days, and the last glass of this wine I took it was much much better. I should've modified the tasting note.
